C'mon guys, I know that you're just kidding and everything when you talk about how it's okay b/c she's not that great looking and stuff so therefore it's okay if she prefers a white guy. She might not be really pretty or hot or anything but she's not butt ugly either in my opinion. Once again I know that most people are just kidding or messin' around but really, if people are gonna complain' about 'white people taking asian women' then we should complain for the right reasons (i.e. when ugly women get taken as well) and not just say stuff like 'but it's okay for them to take the ugly ones'. I am not one to see this topic of dating disparity as a subject of concern at all but for those that do, there are better and more justifiable motives.

that's just it.&nbsp; in my own experience, asian guys do hold more "loyalty" to asian women, in the sense that nearly all the asian guys i know in the US wouldn't date non-asian women.<BR><BR>me, i'm an equal opportunity kind of lover.&nbsp; but Chinese language abilities is definitely a bonus for me.&nbsp; that doesn't mean that she would necessarily be genetically Chinese though.

After reading some other sites it seems that's the general feeling, but it doesn't stop just there; it seems that they think that they can't even date within their own community cuz suposedly all asian girls are after white boys

Do I think a lot of Asian guys get sand kicked in their face when it comes to dating?&nbsp; Sure.&nbsp; I think a certain amount of that has to do with the negative preconceptions other females have of us right from the start: non-Asian girls view us as effeminate or sexless; Asian girls view us as sexist tyrants, blah blah.&nbsp; Like how other racial minorities are constantly tested again and again to allay skepticism and fear that they'll never meet up to "American" standards, Asian guys sometimes have to speak a little louder and be that much more confrontational to make others aware that yes, we're men too.<BR><BR>(Quick tangent:&nbsp;in&nbsp;<EM>Better Luck Tomorrow</EM>, the boys arrive at a high school party, and are given shit from other jocks...the exact same thing happened to me and two other Korean guys at the start of our first Hell Week during our freshman year.&nbsp; We weren't suited up or anything, but I think we were wearing our practice jerseys, and a couple of JV players were like, "Hey, you're going the wrong way, the tennis courts are that way...)<BR><BR>On a more practical level...Asian parents don't exactly encourage their sons to date the Homecoming Queen.&nbsp; They leapfrog over a period when they could be sharpening their game in order to excel in other crap.

Yeah, I agree on most part. But you also have to consider that the ideas that you mentioned are constantly on our heads and once we get rejected by some girl we immediately assume that it's because we're asian and don't seem to think that it could have been something else and usually any guy, no matter how good or bad he looks or what ethnicity he is, is bound to get turned down by women quite often.

Yes, I agree that we have to make a bit more of effort to stand out to brake the stereotypes, but it's not like non-asian or asian women aren't interested on us, unless you're planning to hit on a sorority gir from an all white and blonde sorority.

If you blamed a guy for being short-sighted because he based his feelings on his experiences alone, that's one thing...but try turning on the TV or watching a movie. Up until very (and I mean *very*) recently, the Asian girl ending up with the white guy was an afterthought. And yes, every actor who is a minority has had to "pay their dues" by playing the stereotype that audience can comprehend or accept...but Hollywood seemed particularly stubborn in trying hold onto their belief of emasculated Asian males.

You're right, getting turned down is part of the process and something I don't think a lot of Asian guys more comfortable with until their older. Accepting the fact other non-Asian males will be attracted to your woman without hating them as your mortal enemy is another part of the process I think.

i went out with white girls alot before i met asian girls.

so i never cared about IR.

but to make a small story short, some asian girls can be so offensive with their abilities to tell AM that they don't like AM with such ease. Even white girls won't say that to your face.

what the hell. if i get rejected, the first thing that i think is because i'm short and stubby, not because i'm asian. i know a native american girl that cites her race as the reason that she doesn't get any male attention, but she's thin and pretty. i was thinking - well shit, then i might as well commit suicide and save myself from a life-time of social dissapointments. now i know how asian girls feel about whiny asian boys.

exactly... well, not about your other quirks. i don't know you well enough to know about your other quirks... :P

but i agree. internet dating services/classifieds are not meant for everyone. but i don't agree on those that are being judgemental on others who use it as a means to mean people. though i do tend to think that it is healthier if the individual doesn't rely on internet dating as his/her only source.

in this day and age, networking and meeting people over the net is a pretty common and expected thing, right?
