Does a career after college seem possible?
Thinking of getting more than a Bachelors to become more competitive in the job market?

i'm taking over my parent's restaurant as a side business as a manager and i'm getting a job as a program facilitator for a teen suicide hotline. in other words, I'll be going around to every high school to talk about suicide prevention. It'd be great networking and public speaking practice for me. What I do probably won't pay a lot but it's rewarding. I plan to get a masters in organizational psychology after a year or so worth of work.

It's not all about the money. Good work!
I went to SF State and thought I would be working in Silicon Valley in the 80's. Never got there. Went into business applications development and support, but the help of a family friend.

Well right now I'm aspiring to grab my bachleors in Graphic Design. I might get a buisness degree, so that maybe I can be a head director or something. But as far as it looks right now....

I have a few excellent prospective Vancouver and London based law firms lined up for possible post-Bar employment, but that's about it. London might be a problem since I'm on a student Visa. :frown: I'm aspiring to earn my LLM at Harvard Law and possibly an MBA and PhD as well. A second undergrad at either Oxford in Politics, Philosophy & Economics (PPE) or in International Relations at the London School of Economics is attractive as well.
My long term goal is service at the UN or WTO in legal affairs, which is why I'm going through the enormous amount of prep work.

Five years total education, I hope. ;) Three for the second degree, two for both the LLM and MBA, and I'm not sure about the PhD so I didn't count that. Of course, I'll be working for two to three years first before the LLM.
I like learning new things.

Hmmm....2 more years of college and if the market is still bad, then you'll be more in debt like most of my friends who thought things would be fine after their Master's. Personally, I'm starting to think about working at a strip club

I'm not sure yet, but I think I feel called to ordained ministry.
Which means my parents, whose only god is The Almighty Dollar, will probably disown me because it's not one of their approved career paths.

Well, you want to make a descent living, but if that career choice makes you happy, then go for it.
You have to like what you do, afterall, or you'll get burned-out.

I'm going to sell fake rolexes on the ebay and found my own religion called The followers of the faith of Eternal enlightenment, I figure all I need is around 20-50 firm believers to 'convince' and 'persuade' into giving me their life savings and worldly possessions and train them into persuading others to obey my commands. Hey! the perk's are too tempting to resist: participate in social activities like group orgies, twister, monopoly, while getting to watch quality primetime cable shows like the Soprano's and 6 feet under!

The Catholic Church needs more non-pervy priests and brothers. Oh, the bad press... :(

gonna get the job security (essentially close to no chance of being laid off, ever) and gonna get paid in full (even more depending on how far i can take it in the private sector, if i wanna pursue it) in two years. future is bright and looking oh so tight.
i look foward to becoming a republican and being in the upper income bracket.
