i hate doing laundry because my apartment complex is so big that it takes five minutes to walk to the laundry room. i hate the fact that i don't have a washer and dryer in my own apartment. i hate losing socks to the washer or dryer (where do those socks go???? i always check.) i hate doing laundry.

I actually like it. I'm obssessed with good smelling detergent and fabric softener. Stems from good memories on my grandparents farm where they still used a washer from the 40s and hung everything on a line. Fond memories of summer in upstate New York.

I just hate it when I run outta clothes. I'd prefer to do my laundry than wear stanky clothes or buying news all the time (did this a bit when I was working)

laundry is laundry. i do it because if i don't my room stinks. luckily i have a washer and dryer in the apartment i live in. otherwise i'd be mad pissed if i had to bring quarters all the time.

there are some ppl i know who live in the dorms, who don't do laundry at all. they scare me. now i know why some ppl come to school stinky-like. :gross:

i hate doing it too. I usually wait til I'm at my last underwear before I decide to drive to the laundromat. Well, i shouldn't complain because my house has a washer and dryer, but I live with my s.o. now, and I just do it there at the club house. It's not that bad once you put the clothes in the washer because there's a work out room directly next to the laundry room. So, I either work out while I wait for my laundry or I'll go upstairs and watch tv on the big screen.

Laundry is the only time of the week I get real studying done, cuz I'll sit in the laundry room with no TV and no computer, just me and the books. Also, the laundry room (as opposed to a laundromat, unfortuantely) is a good place to meet scantily clad women. Though maybe it's just cuz almost all of our apartment building are students. :D

Doing laundry takes about 5 minutes.

liar. it can't take five minutes.
Bedroom to garage: 10 sec.
Detergent in washer. Unload basket: 15 sec.
Select and turn on washer: 2 sec.
Done with washer part.
Transfer laundry to dryer: 10 sec.
Done.

That's actually like under a minute.
You're forgetting to take into account the time it takes for the washer to actually /wash/ the clothes and for the dryer to actually /dry/ the clothes.

After all that, you're 'done'?

How about when the dryer's done? Do you just leave your clothes in there? You don't take em out and fold/hang them?

For me it takes me damn near a whole afternoon. I don't know how to fold clothes the correct way, but I do try. Ironing clothes is a bitch. Are you saying you do none of these things?

i don't like when my brother steals my socks. like some sports socks. mine're white and not stretched out. my brother has huge feet. he's like a size 14 or 15? he steals my socks once he doesn't like his anymore and then i don't have any more of my favorite socks.

and i don't like when my mom picks up my socks that i sometimes leave around the house and mixes them with my brother cus she mis-pairs them.

yeah, i usually let my clothes pile up...
until i HAVE to do my laundry...cuz its just a chore i dont like to do.... but i'm fickle... i'd much prefer doing my MY OWN laundry... rather than someone else do my laundry... cuz like i dont like the thoughts of having someone else touch my personal belongings...

I hate doing laundry. I let it pile and pile. It ends up being like 10 loads by the time I get around to it. I take up like 1/3 of the laundromat by myself. It doesn't take up any more time, but carrying the laundry to and from my car is a pain.

If you were unemployed, wouldn't that mean you'd have more than enough free time to take a shower? Hey, I'd live out of the shower if that's possible...I hate being sweaty.

Anyways, laundry is nice and easy for me...although two huge loads of laundry does get kinda crappy since it takes so long to wash and then dry. But hey, I don't want to re-wear dirty clothes...that's kinda gross.

I hate the thought of doing laundry, but once I'm doing it, it doesn't bother me. it's a hassle only cause I have to throw it all into the truck and drive to the laundry mat.

I hate people that hog up a gazzilion machines too. Some times when they really piss me off, I wait for them to leave, then I'll open and shut one of the doors to their machine. Then when they come back, they get all mad that everything is done except for this one machine. I'm such a dick.

When my family's washer and dryer broke down, I realized how much of a bitch some people are when it comes to washing machines. They'll leave their magazine over the top of it, and then claim they reserved it or what not. And back then I was like a kid in third grade who just wanted to do the laundry and go home. Fucking out-of-town yuppies who were living in my district always told me to go somewhere else, or ask where my mom was.

So this one person got me really mad, because she supposedly "reserved" 3 dryers, I mean... she had a LOT of laundry, but you can't reserve 3 dryers. That's obscene. So I took a pen, and uncapped it and threw it in the dryer when she walked outside to go smoke. I didn't stay to watch the carnage happen, but I could imagine. She deserved it. :pissed:

I've never done anything that mean, but a couple of times I did notice some of my boxers were missing, and once I came home and started folding laundry and there was a pair of panties that weren't in there before. Somehow, I'd picked up a souvenier.

yea once again my attraction towards panties and bras has significantly diminished over the years after hauling and moving other people's shit from the washers into the dryers at my dorm laundry room since they are too lazy to do it themselves and they know that other people do it for them (otherwise how else am I gonna be able to wash my own?). Girls have cleaner underwear on the whole but once again it's not that much cleaner.........

Can't STAND laundry. That's why my bf does all of it and I do the dishes. :) that's a fair trade....

We normally let it pile up 'til we have nothing left... then he spends all night doing it. Then we let it sit there in a clean pile until we've worn it all and it becomes a dirty pile again.

Yeah, it sucks to not have your own washer and dryer. It sucks to have to do it all the time.

I have found that it can help me think about things, though. If I concentrate on it, I'l go nuts, but if I focus on what I did that day, or what I need to do in the future, then the laundry time goes faster. B)

Hrm, for some reason I like doing laundry (my own, not anyone elses, hehe :P ). There's a washing machine and dryer in our apartment but I don't use it since its falling apart and it adds additional wear and tear to the clothes. So I drive up to my parents' place in Norcal every two weeks and use theirs. OMG they have the nicest washing machine and dryer. The Maytag Neptune washer and dryer set. The best part is that my parents love it when I visit them and stay over. So they cover for gas which isn't too bad since my Celica is pretty gas-efficient (one gas tank per trip). Though I'm considering getting a hybrid in the future.

She was probably obnoxious and deserved some sort of come-uppance. But if all she did was try to insist that she had the right to reserve three dryers, what you did would be like slashing someone's tire(s) for taking up multiple parking spots -- e.g. totally out of proportion and cowardly to boot.

I wash my clothes once every 2 weeks. I'll use shirts/sweaters/ 3-4 times at most. Pants at least 3 times, at most 6. Last thing I want is unecessary wear and tear on my stuff. I want these things to last at least 3-4 years. Maybe more. Reason why I don't shop for clothes often. ;)

I like doing laundry. I just don't like doing other people's laundry (like my brother because he doesn't know how to). The feeling of warm, clean laundry is comforting. And the smell of the detergent is the best. When I walk home, I pass a laundromat, and I always take a deep breath when I walk by. Ahh, laundromats. Brings back memories. My grandma used to take me and my brother to the laundromat when our washing machine wasn't working. The place had an arcade for the kiddies. I would play Street Fighter with my brother while we wait for the laundry. Sometimes we would climb into those big laundry carts and ride around. I remember wanting to climb into one of those washing machines. I would've fit back then, too. Gotta love those industrial sized washing machines. :luv: I like washing machines as you can tell by my icon. Haha.
