Was just wondering if I was missing any good sites.

usually yahoo since their news come from AP which isn't so biased as CNN or FOX. I also get from el tiempo, which is a Colombian news paper on the net but most of their sources are either from Reuters or AP.

i think the economist is british. :)

and it's plenty biased but it's well-written so it doesn't seem so blatant. i don't think the Economist will ever publish socialist views and most likely wouldn't publish an article that argues for rent control or tariffs, even tho at least in the latter, there are economic arguments for tariffs.

the onion is an internationally renowned publication whose articles have been republished verbatim in the Chinese mainland domestic press, so trusting they are of their high reporting standards.

oh yeah, and the Economist is run by Brits.

I usually just read news.google.com, and keep tabs on www.malaysiakini.com (the only free Malaysian press, and they publish in English, mostly!) I almost never read yahoo news in English, but i visit their hk and jp sites a lot. i wish google news was offered in other languages ...

actually i get most of my news from weblogs these days

I'm also an economist so anything that has socialism will seem absurd to me. Maybe that's why I love that magazine, cuz most of the stuff they say I agree.

some theoretical economic arguments seem kind of socialist to me, esp externality arguments w/ the "social planner w/ perfect knowledge." wow thats like full-blown 1984ism. :)

as for The Economist, I haven't read it much, but even politically, i think the economist's views are pretty conservative. but i could be wrong cuz i only read parts of it once or twice. B)

Craig, if you're the news junkie I think you are, you'd probably love FeedReader (http://www.feedreader.com). It's a news aggregation program that reads RDF feeds. Basically, you get the news as it comes in, as often as you poll for it. You can have it pop up windows when the stories come in. Really distracting if you're trying to work, but gets you a nice quick fix.
