A fire destroyed a French Cleaners in Modesto, CA, on the eve of the Iraq war, and obscene graffiti and broken windows were found at other locations. The graffiti said "Fuck the French" and police have labelled the vandalism as a hate crime. A window broken by a pellet gun has been labelled as vandalism. The fire has been labelled as "suspicious" by the fire chief, who is still investigating.

The chain of stores is owned by the Frik family, who became US citizens after immigrating from Lebanon in 1977. They are not French.

this whole war has been about iraqi oil, and everyone knows it.

bush is the only one who thinks everyone is still ignorant of that fact.

So...would Congressman Coble support putting the French in internment camps? After all, they're being attacked and are in danger. Maybe he would support throwing them in an internment camp for their own safety.

LOL :)

Why hasn't there been a huge backlash against the Soviets or China, who also aren't supporting the war? But this whole french-bashing thing is just making us look so bitter and childlike...

I think you are ignorant of the fact that the UN is going to be in control of the Oil Wells, The UN is going to be in control of the interim government that is going to be sest up. Of course the wonderful French have already come out and said that if the UK, Spain, or the US is in anyway part of the creation of the interim government that they will veto any UN resolution to create stability in the area.

Gotta love the French.

In regards tot he oil... the United States is not going to get a leg up on anyone in the world in regards to oil... any oil benefit is going to be world wide and not Nationwide from East Coast to West Coast. Even the dirty Frogs will benefit from it.

This war goes beyond oil..... Listen to the Tony Blair speech... he puts a good UK look on things.

I'm still wondering do you think that this war is just about homeland security? I mean, like I said US failed to prove that Iraq is a threat. And if you look at the current economical situation, the budget deficit, and the increase of the budget deficit due to war; it'd be a lot more convinient for the US to get in charge of the oil, and it's actually harder to believe that all this investment is going for homeland security, freedom and democracy, and the well being of the iraquis (just like bush states).
To be honest I can't really think (and probably a lot of people agree) of any other reasons to get into Iraq. Even when the UN says they'll control that, I doubt that Bush will let them keep that on their hands.

Because it's already been ingrained into the American peoples' minds that the Chinese and the Russians are the enemy.
