Even if one doesn't become a politician... i think one can still be involved in politics and take concern it... I mean, where would the politicians be without the public people??... So, I feel we the public people are just as important as them.. when it comes to influencing and effecting change...

I'd probably have to wait a few years before I can pass any sort of "health" tests I might be required to take to gain public office. Oh, and I'd probably have to eliminate everyone I know right now, since they're witnesses to my often-deviant behavior.

I'm planning on five to ten years in the private sector followed by a transition into the UN if possible. Why serve one nation when I can serve the world?

Funny you should say that actually. A Model UN friend of mine uttered almost the exact same thing not too long ago: "Do you mean 'Why serve one country when you can serve the world?' or 'Why have one country when you can have the world' Mike?"

I want to run for local office someday, like city council or school board or something.

I'd far prefer being one of the moneymen from whom politicos beg alms.

not me, but a friend of mine here in NYC has lofty political aspiratons. he is a classic korean-american hard-luck story. grew up in flushing queens... somehow, a prep-school gave him a chance... went to yale... works for a non-profit getting funding from big corporations... is going to officer training with the US air force soon... his ultimate goal is to start an orgaization to help underpriviledged kids like himself have a chance to succeed, and for himself to eventually become a NY senator. he really truly wants this.
