me and a bunch of my friends were walking down the street earlier today, and some black homeless dude comes running up to us yelling "ching chong chang" type remarks.

I was kind of at a loss for what to do... if it was any other person, i prolly would said something or at least stepped up to them. but for some reason, i felt bad for the guy. He was homeless... probably an alcoholic... and probably drunk at the time. It didn't seem like a battle worth fighting...

i dunno.. i think back on it, and i think maybe i should've just told him off. but... his life probably sucks enough as it is.

i'm just saying, getting on that beverage WILL impair your judgement causing you to say things and do things that you wouldn't normally. intoxication is fun, not intelligent. more than likely, he didn't mean what he said..

"a drunk man's words are a sober man's feelings"
most of the time that's true
alcohol is notorious for imparing judgement but if anything it's major effect is removing inhibitions

I guess if you really wanna humble him, ask him if he'll let you kick him in the nuts for five bucks.

And then after you kick him and he asks for his five bucks, say "Ching chong wah ah so, solly, no speak Engrish."

Yea for real, a lotta times when I am drunk, I tend to me more open with revealing what i truly feel inside (i.e. less inhibited), but also a lot more bullshit (even more than usual) and philosophical crap comes out of my mouth.

Anyways, if the guy had any beer left on him, I would've taken it from him too. Loser

I would have given him a dollar and walked away.

A lot of people who get to the state of homelessness do so because they aren't sane or can't function. And let's say for the hell of it he was a crackhead. If he was yelling slurs, just ignore him because he's high and/or insane. Probably both.

Course, if he comes running up to you, you might want to tazer or mace the shit out of him. Ain't no crackhead getting close to me. I'm sorry he's homeless and all but I never know who has needles on them downtown or what kind of crazy shit they'll pull.

yeah, just let him go Rogmok, cuz you can shake it off, but he will always be homeless.

Just be glad you werent confronted, think of it that way

Ooh, i like nympho's idea, it reminds me of an anecdote from Chris Rock. He said he was in a limo once and recognized the driver as a racist dude who spit on him back in high school. Course instead of giving him "the treatment" Rock gave him a big tip and came out on top.

Same thing happened to me except they weren't homeless.

Piss on him. And remind the smelly bastard that he should be grateful. Some folks pay good money to have a person piss on them and you're pissing on him for free.

i haven't read all the posts but this thread reminds me of some bum on the street that started to murmur out to the world that this place was all foreigners and blah blah because everyone ignored his slum ass on the street.

I didn't really say anythign and left the bum to his miserable self and some white guys walked by and one of them w/ a thumbs up went "good attitude" saying it and looking at him sarcastically w/ a smile.

i kinda smiled and chuckled.

y'know in canada we are taxed to death.

i pay about $800/month in income tax alone.

That's like enough to support a welfare recipient.

I don't think i've recieved my money's worth of governmental services and privileges.

I've have their racist cops fuck w/ me on the street.

there is no appreciation of us.

just constantly looking to the public for a cash grab like we are some kind of bottomless pit of dough.

When i get older, maybe when i'm semi retired, i'm going to join some kind of taxpayers federation or civil liberties association overthrow this stupid government and it's policies.

my point is, that homeless guy should be bashing the government, not asians because we are not the root of his problems. We have to pay for his sorry welfare ass too.

ohhhhkay... my two cents: I don't really think it's worth it. If the guy was ranting and raving, he may not have been in his right mind. Any sort of rational argument may have falled on deaf ears. I think it was definitely the safer alternative to walk away. pick and choose your battles and all that.

i don't battle w/ bums. i feel quite sorry for them and actually do give them change, smokes and treat them nice enough.

but sometimes they can piss you right off w/ their constant pestering.

Makes me remember a time when me and some friends were drunk outside aclub and a friend of mine yelled "get out of here" as he smashed the hat of change out of the bum's hand.

That was mean but kind of funny at the same time. I was drunk, sorry.

That doesn't seem right somehow... it's not like it's necessarily their fault.

oh, chairman, that just makes me want to cry....

in high school, downtown toronto, i kept seeing homeless guys... you get to know them b/c they're there... all six years, there would be the same people hawking newspapers or selling pens. most of them are tired, and they were forced onto the streets by a bad decision or bureaucrats....

You have something he doesn't have, a life.

Leave him with his hatred and self-pity.
