Older White Men

How often does an older white male hit on you? I mean OLDER as in 10 or more years older than you. Does it creep you out?

It's happened to me before and I don't know if it's because they believe movies that portray Asian women as mistresses or if they're genuinely attracted, but it's still quite creepy. Have you had any instances of inappropriate behavior by an older white male towards you?

I live in NYC and we have a listserv for personals ads. I always see: "SWM searching for SAF for mistress activities. Will treat you well and pay for rent. I am an older gentleman in his 40's looking for a discreet relationship with a young cash strapped college-age SAF."

I would never go for a middle-aged white male not only because of the big age gap, but because they probably do have that image of a subservient Asian woman in mind. A lot of times it's hard to tell when someone outside of my race thinks I'm attractive because I dunno if it's because I'm Asian or if they really think I'm attractive. I usually don't take compliments from people outside of my race too seriously because of that.

i actually don't know how to respond anymore. i used to respond with a loud, "WHAT?" but then they would back away, looking sad, saying "nevermind" or something, and i'd feel like a mean little asian girl. you know?

once, though, i heard wrong. that was pretty embarassing. i was in downtown, going up on the elevator at the subway station, and this old white man was across the way going down. i thought i heard him shot, "hi sweetie, you're chinese." so i shouted back, "yeh, so?" and glared at him. he figured that i probably misheard and said, "i said, 'hi sweetie, it's rainin'.'"

how i mistook "rainin" for "chinese" is beyond me. :blush:

I think older men hitting on younger women is just disturbing. Its so um..icky. I once worked at a family friend's store during the summer because they really needed help for 3 weeks and this older hispanic guy comes EVERY day. I dreaded going to work. He was 45! eww! my daddy isnt even 45. d00d, it always makes me wonder when a guy can't/won't/doesn't want to date someone his own age/generation.....I mean I can understand when it is a mutual attraction thing...that's the couple's deal....but I mean MAN.....-shivers-....that kinda pisses me off when old guys don't get the hint and then girls sometimes go to their guys friends for help......This female friend of mine had a problem in her ball room dancing class at the local community college....it was a mostly female class, but the guys in the class were of an older generation....and they'd all be oggling the younger women in the class.....practically drooling over girls would be daughters at best and granddaughters at worst....I mean some of those OGs could dance...others were there for close contact with a woman........ :ph34r: ......I ended up becoming her new dance partner for the 3/4 of the whole semester -grumbles-

i think the first time i stopped trusting older men was because of mexican gardeners. prior to that, i viewed older men in general as other people's dads/teachers/people you can trust. during freshman year in high school, though, i had to walk home from school almost everyday. they'd drive past me and whistle, cat-call, etc. - many of them in their 30's or 40's. i remember feeling very disappointed that they weren't decent people.

I have been hit on by older WMs before. Not so much 10 years, maybe like 50? I was in Ireland when I was... 13? 14? Something like that, and I was sitting in the pub with some friends and family. We sat right next to the band (I suppose that is what you would call them), there were two people playing acordian, one guy playing some tin cans, a lady playing the fiddle, etc. Anyway, one of the acordian players turned to me and was "showing off" his skills, he kept looking at me with this weird look on his face, extremely smile-y. It was weird because he was SO much older.

And recently, it wasn't a WM, but this African American guy, maybe 30 years older than me, honked at me, and I ran into him at our local shopping center. He stopped me and proceeded to compliment me and everything.

Old guys hitting on me in general, very weird thing.
