Starting next year (which is only a couple days away), I'm going to be away from my computer most of the time. I'm going back to film school at the tender age of 42 to study directing. No, really. It's going to be an intensive filmmaking program, so I'm not going to be able to contribute to this site as much as I used to. I do hope to check back every once in a while to see how things are going, but if you don't hear from me at all, you'll know why.

I need to say so long now because I'm horribly behind in my writing projects, and I need to catch up with them before the day after New Year's, which is when classes begin. The Internet in general, and this site in particular, has been too distracting, so I need to cut them out. And truth be told, at Yellow World, I have lately been feeling a little like the behind-the-times 40-something at the college kegger. Some things are said on this site that I just can't relate to at all. It must be my age. Still, I'm glad that I've gotten to know some points of view that I might not have been exposed to otherwise. I'll miss not being around as often as I used to.

Until I do come back, I'd like to express my appreciation to Tapsetrybabe, for inviting me to this site, and to Achtungbaby, for posting some of my articles in the review section. I'd also like to express my admiration for Achtung's activism in the matters of the "Kung Fool" costume and Anna Guo, and his using this site to help rally support. I'd like to thank everyone who responded to my posts, yay or nay, for taking the time to let me know what you thought. I'm particularly going to miss Buouywonder's bone-dry deadpan humor and Artsfartsy Janet's pleasant observations (so long, Swami!). And if Angel Nympho had to disagree with me on so many issues, I'm glad that she could do so while making me laugh. (Boy, this is starting to sound soggy. I really need to get a life, don't I?)

If anyone needs a movie trivia question answered, you can reach me at shuriken@yellowworld.org. Take care...

Well, folks, I ended up withdrawing from the filmmaking program. It was just too intensive. :P

But thank you all for your good wishes. I hope I can put them to better use when I move on to my next enterprise, whatever and whenever that may be...

Until then, I guess I'll be knocking around here a bit longer.

love Johnny Clegg. If you need any ideas for a flick let me know, got one all written out, complete with Asian cast.
