Hey, the name's Kreed, with a K.. obviously. I first want to say that I'm what I like to refer to as a "Multicultural forum hopper", and what I mean by that is that I'm a member to a rather large array of different ethnic/cultural/racial based forums.. in which I go onto and chat about life issues with the various members.

I started doing this about 10 years back as a means to help give people personal or rational insight on my community and to learn something new about theirs.. all as a means to expand my knowledge on the world's human community. :smile:

In short, it's been like one big long lasting study case for me, and I hope you don't mind indulging in this journey with me. Now I'll be honest and tell you'all that I've been on a couple of Asian based forums before in the past, and unfortunately all of them turned out to be filled with individuals whom were the equivalent of the white extremist you'll find on STORMFRONT, and I'm sure most of you are familiar with that site.

So to say the least, the apparent running law on those particular sites were based on the facts of that they got to harshly badmouth your people, and you didn't have the right to dispute and or defend, else.. be banned, or have your posts be deleted. So, it didn't take long for me and other non-Asians and rational minded Asians whom joined these few sites to be kicked off.

After a couple of years of giving up on joining any apparent East Asian ethnic site of any type, I decided give it another go and I've been scoping around for a rational one to take part in, and it was about a month ago now that I'd come upon this site. I've since then been scoping it out, and was pleased to see that the mods here and the general contributing membership... appear to be very judicious in their moderation and contribution to sensitive cultural and other topics, in which I'm most drawn to. So I've decided to join.

Some of you may grow to hate me, some may grow to tolerate me, and some may even grow to like me in due time.. though it's certain that you all will get to know me rather well, and I hope that our interactions are more often civil than irrational.

By the way, I'm an African-American male, I have absolutely no interest in hooking up with an Asian woman.. so rest assured that I'm not here to fetish over Asian women, as I'm sure many Non-Asian males have come here in the past to do, and lastly I'm not here to put blame on you and or take blame for anything undeserving of such in regard to any issue in which may come before my eyes here on out.

Many have said that I'm arrogant... but I say I'm just confident, many say I'm mean.... but I say I'm just forward, many say I'm funny.... but I say I'm just goofy, many have said that I'm militant... but I say I'm just intense, some say I'm racist... though I say I'm just clear minded, many have said that I'm intelligent/smart.. though I say I'm just clever; though I've never been called stupid, and funny enough that would of been the only thing I'd of actually agreed with. :biggrin:

No offence Woody, but from the comments you write here. It sounds to me that there have been some personal situations in your life where you have been let down by other people. So for as much as you having a go at Kreed for his introduction, if you can conclude all those above statements from a mere introduction then you should be the leading expert in forensic science.

As for Nakata's comments, i hear all the time from Asian people wanting to come to England, France, Germany, etc, to understand more about European culture. Of course when i hear a girl saying this, i do not jump to the immediate conclusion that she has some strange kind of unknown illness called white fever and should instantly be excluded for having some bizarre fetish.

Anyway, what I would really love to know from both Woody and Nakata is why are you being so defensive? I've read through Kreeds introductory statement and i see no personal references to you.

Spread the positivity here! Surely thats what this community is all about? If thats not the case i shall duly leave.

Well Eos, lets just break down the points you are making here, and no disrespect of course.

Point 1: If something has been going on for a long period of time, then it is said to be normal. So surely with what you are saying here is that if we applied it to religion everyone that worshipped the most ancient of religions would be fine, and all those others that diverted from this would be classed as weird. Very interesting outlook to have on life.

Point 2: In the above statements I cannot see any evidence of Kreed making asian people out to be some kind of other bizarre race of people other then just using the ethnic classification system that was established since the early days of modern society. So if you have a problem with that, perhaps you should be sending your complaints to those in the theoretical world, that have classified our ethnic routes.

Point 3: This sounds very much like as we say in England, "The pot calling the kettle black." On one hand you are saying that you can try to make others feel a certain way, and then feel upset when they tell you the same in exchange. As adults the key to any discussion is to openly listen to what other people are saying instead of trying to blindly push your points.

I just re-read through your post and I noticed a couple of things. You talk about this idea of being privileged, in the sense of some kind of god given right to certain aspects of life. I find this strange to believe becuase for every successful white businessmen, im sure there is an equal ratio to successful asian businessmen, and with China being one of the fastest growing economies im sure this is bound to grow exponentially. Plus it saddens me to think that from the tone of the words used in your final sentence that you are really letting these things anger you so much that you have to resort to the use of bad language.

Correct me if I am wrong, upon joining this forum I felt it would be a great place for people to express their positive views amongst each other.

Yellowworld Forums exist to support the asian
descent community in the USA. So naturally
threads should be relevant and focused on the
support and interest of the asian american
community. Constructive arguments are always
of interest. Name calling and flaming should
be avoid not just because it is counter productive
but because its not emotionally healthy
