No doubt, Final Fantasy 6. I'm in the process of re-playing it in Japanese right now actually. :) But yeah, one series that gets neglected is Phantasy Star, it's one of the few games I've actually been able to play through and beat on an emulator cause it was THAT good.

here are a few good forgotten ones
Whatever happened to the Tales of Phantasia, Tales of Destiny, and ToD 2 series
those were pretty good
i liked the concept a lot

Legend of Dragoon deserves some credit though it was incredibly easy
also the Lufia family
why does everyone overlook the Suikoden series!?!?!

and now for some favs:
Chrono Trigger
FF V & VI & VII & VIII & X
ToP, ToD (never finished and have yet to see ToD II)
Lufia II
Suikoden II (i want Suikoden I & III so bad)!!!!!!
errr can't think of too many

er..... I really didn't like the Fallout series that much
good deal of freedom but i hate turn-based and the hex thingy
yuxor

I am half and half on Secret of Mana II

HAS ANYONE EVER PLAYED MAGNA CARTA (korean RPG that looks o so sweet by Softmax who also made War of Genesis III parts 1 and 2)!!!?????
I want it out in America NOW!!!!!!! Why in the world did it have to be friggin' recalled (besides some fatal error which they could've released a patch for!!!)?????

I guess the Diablo craze is dead huh? Or am I wrong in considering it an RPG?

i've never played the Tales of Destiny or Phantasia series, but all the rest you mentioned are truly classics. However, I also thoroughly enjoyed the Lunar series, and is everyone forgetting Zelda (or is that not RPG enough?)

I hear Morrowind is good for PC.. Dunno though. They just came out with an expansion, it must be doing OK..

Morrowind is good. I'd also suggest Neverwinter Nights. The official campaign sucks shitballs but there is a free official campaign and official expansion being released soon, and the best thing are the user-created modules which honestly, are on the same level as Bioware's previous efforts.

heh..remember the one for turbo graphix? "Y's" was the title..you would fight your battles by just 'running into' the enemies...i remember it had good cinematics for it's time....another neat one was Shining in the darkness for sega...it has some pretty entertaining story lines...but by far Phantasy Star TWO i believe is still the best...

Ragnarok Online. (No not a favorite)
Friggin game is BUGGY as hell. I played this like a year ago, and got sick of it, since it's worse than diablo 1 on crack. It's gorgeous, and the music is light and fun, but damnit, it's buggy as hell. *yea, I'm a geek*
