Are you putting the cart in front of the horse?

Since "King James" :wink:and Bosh rarely ever play defense, it is going to be a conscious challenge for them to do that.
King James also failed to understand that "... defense wins championships. ..."

We live in an "on demand" society where winning is expected.
Lets play the "what-if" card. ... What happens if the two of the starting five get hurt and the bench does not perform to the coach's and fan's expectations? The team starts to lose. The team unity factor declines. The rest is obvious. There are so many factors that the front office and the coach must consider. Whether they have the intellectual capacity to retain so many objects and factors in their head and determine which set of factors is relevant is a different story.
Basketball is a team game. History shows that a two player team does not win basketball championships. ...

You mean like Jordan/Pippen, Kobe/Shaq, and Duncan/Robinson? Spurs did have phenomenal defense.

Try again. ... Look at the stats. for those championship years. You might figure out why they won.

Offense thrills the crowd. But it is the defense that wins championships. The on-the floor players that plays a "team defense" game gives the team a good chance of winnning.

I already know why they won. I didn't know you were being literal when you said "two player team", as in the entire team consisted of only two men and a mascot.

In your view, what are the commonalities of NBA championship basketball teams ?

If you want me to speak in generalities -- like you often do -- I can say: good scorers, good defenders, good passing, and good team work. You're speaking in generalities and you're not really saying anything.
In my view, "history shows" (just kidding) one of the most common factors might be building a team around two star players - clutch players, consistent scoring in the fourth quarter.
Another common factor, having a quality player in the post who blocks shots.
Third common factor, having at least one lockdown defender that can squash the opposition’s best option.

That's assuming Pat Riley doesn't push him out of the way to coach the team himself. He didn't have a problem doing it to Van Gundy in 05, and I don't think he would have a problem doing it to Spoelstra now.
