OK, so most Asian men don't look good with facial hair etc...but have you ever tried to grow something? A three day stubble, a small goatee or whatever...?

I'm not too hairy myself, but here is my 3 day stubble, not sure if I should keep it growing or shave it off.

Yep. I've always been clean-shaven, but I decided to change my look for once by growing a moustache and goatee. I started letting my hair grow this past April and grew a moustache and goatee for about four months. I even had the fu-manchu going, but I eventually got rid of my facial hair before my parents came to visit me.

I don't mind doing it again some day. The biggest problem for me was getting hair in my mouth when I ate or drank. I've had some comments from co-workers and friends comparing me to a gangster, a bum, an opium dealer, an actor in one of those old Chinese movies, and Genghis Khan.

Some of my friends said that I looked older and more mature, and more intimidating than my usual self.

I've kept a light mustache a few times at the price of looking totally Hispanic.

A bar mustache when I was young man.
After my mom died, I stopped shaving and had full beard.
Now I'm clean shaven.
At my age - I'm just happy to have a full head of hair!

During my anger management phase, I looked like the Evil Spock from the old Star Trek series featuring the Mirror Universe.

I did that partially for the amusement of my employees who were Trekkies. They knew to stay out of my way then.

Take a guess why.

i have pretty pathetic facial hair growth-- definitely don't have the genes for the full beard! i can usually get away with shaving every other day, too, which is nice. but that means no porno stache.. more like crappy uneven stubble..

When I was about 19 or 20 I had a full beard but then I got a job that required me to cut all of my facial hair. It was a blessing in disguise - at that time I grew facial hair to let everybody know that I was a "man" and not a "boy". Now I don't care - I hate having facial hair. It itches, it's scruffy looking, I hate talking on a phone and having my facial hairs get caught up in the tight spaces between the buttons on the phone. I am and always will be clean shaven.

scruffy on men was good when hangovers didn't ruin the next day.

It's a tradition for many of the oldest cultures to keep a beard. The Emperors of China, as well as the scholars, and the Kings of Korea all had facial hair.

I myself have a goatee and a mustache. I usually trim the mustache but let the beard grow.
