Employer:
Canadian Tire
Position:
Service Advisor / Parts
Time Period:
May 2009 - Present
Description:
Service adviser,
Reading minds to make work orders for automotive services for customers that don't know what they want.
Preparing invoices based on customers demands and what little information they give me. I then have to prepare mechanics for services telepathically and repeatedly.
Parts,
Reading minds to find parts in a DOS computer system that takes you in circles only for the customer to tell you its the wrong part when the computer says it's the right one.
I gave my two weeks notice here because when I complained about the new guy calling me a bitch in front of a customer, I was told to get along with him or we're both fired. Don't think so dude...lol

I found this in a FB friend's profile under their jobs category. I'm pretty sure this is why most people would not want to work at any auto-related job because of the communication problem that certain customers present to them daily.
There ought to be a sign with 6 inch letters that says
"SALE ASSOCIATE CANNOT READ MINDS. IF YOU CANNOT ARTICULATE THE PROBLEM CLEARLY, THEN WE CANNOT HELP YOU."
tHO IMHO this is because knowing about cars doesn't mean you know how to explain them to sales associates.
Computers are similar in that few people can understand computer geeks, and that aint the fault of the geek, actually.
It has to do with whether mundane people are interested in computers at all. Most of them are just interested in email, chatting with friends, and gaming. Few of them know what I mean when I ask "What's the size of your memory?" or how to find it under Winblows.
The same applies to cars.
Few people are interested in the difference between automatic and standard. Most of them couldn't drive standard!
