This is not a joke list, but an actual reprint of what was created in 1955. Hilarity.

That text looks very MS Word-ish ... It doesn't look like it was made with a typewriter or typesetting.

Somebody actually PM'd me the Snopes website about this, and said it's undetermined if it's real or not. I was told by a few people it's on the up and up.
Here's (http://lileks.com/misc/33quiz/) the husband version.
Some of it's really outdated and sexist but I found myself agreeing with a lot of the things in the "Merits" column. It's 1933 vs. 2009.

I was told by a few people it's on the up and up.Well, it still wasn't too long ago when people used typewriters in business (even side by side with computers). Plus, in middle school & high school I definitely have experience seeing things being typeset for Newspaper, Yearbook, etc. Looks fake. What magazine, etc. is it supposed to be from? Here's (http://lileks.com/misc/33quiz/) the husband version.

Lots of people like to create and circulate fake parody lists making fun of how they think the 1950s, 1890s, etc. were, in order to congratulate themselves about how "progressive" they are compared to their ignorant ancestors ... there's lots of examples of this genre of bullshit
Somehow I don't think those are parodies. I've seen some of these lists in old home economics books and they're real.

Ugh, regardless of whether these specific lists are real, imagine trying to live up to all these sorts of expectations (for men or women). No wonder shit blew up in white america when it did. But I really hate men who forget how to cook, wash the dishes, and do the laundry as soon as they have a partner. fucking children.

I eat lots of organic and 'ethnic' foods, and it's much cheaper, faster and higher quality to cook and consume it at home. Plus, it's likely to taste better as you know the target audience who the food is being prepared for.
... as far as dishwashing, ... What's with the Asian community and most of them not knowing how to use these nice conveniences (i.e. automated dishwashers, etc.) in life?
For laundry, I can see the benefit of hanging the clothes over the dryer, but otherwise ... Nice front loaders are your friends ...

Good point w/ the eating out, but what I'm talking about is more the kind of guy who sits around on his ass once he gets home. Including loading the dishwasher, making a sandwich, doing laundry in the modern sense...yeah, all that. But ignore me, just venting.

i secretly think this is the way things should be. it gets really confusing when the guy starts acting like a woman.
^Not to mention frustrating and annoying. I don't like lots of long talks about feelings and emotions. I just don't. I actually fell asleep one time while having one of these "talks".
I don't like being the guy in the relationship. It's weird.

how far do you take it though? i don't like talks about feelings and emotions either, but i want a woman with opinions and who is a partner in major decisions and the managing of finances. i would get real bored with a woman the defers everything to me. just not attracted to submissive girls (outside of bedroom).
I just don't like clingy, needy guys. Over the weekend my friend was at my housewarming party and her husband called 3-4 times. She was there for 2 hours. The first time he called to see if she found the apartment. Second time he called to tell her it's been an hour. Third time he called to ask her about a concert they were going to that night. You get the picture.
I hope I never go out with or marry anyone like that.
Bottom line: You got a problem with me? Just say it to my face. No need to beat around the bush or have a series of talks night after night after night.

Second time he called to tell her it's been an hour.
LOLWTF???
Seriously, that's what he did. And he does this every time she goes out without him.
"Um..so when do you think you're going to be back?"
"So, are you coming back soon? It's been an hour."

^ it kinda sounds like he's controlling. sounds like the beginning of an abusive relationship.
I've met him and I can say that he's not abusive or controlling. Just imagine a 5-year old saying those 2 sentences and that's exactly how he is.
She says he's kinda insecure and doesn't like to socialize too much with people he doesn't know. My friend is really outgoing and he's the complete opposite.

You guys remember those old education films from the 50's? I've seen some of these things listed in there. I'm sure they're real.
