The Tata Nano, the world's cheapest car, has been launched in India.

Costing just 100,000 rupees ($1,979; £1,366), the Nano will now go on sale across India next month, with deliveries starting in July.

Tata hopes the 10-foot (3-metre) long, five-seater car will be cheap enough to encourage millions of Indians to trade up from their motorcycles.

Yes, I promised my sister I would get her this. But that was like 3 years ago, and now its JUST launched in India? The late launch is making me a liar.

Which is more precarious- driving a motorcycle through India or driving an unproved brand of car through India? ...Well, motorcycle versus pretty much anything is a losing proposition.
So your prospects in even an unproven car are probably still better. This is particularly the case given you're most likely to run into a little motorbike.

I prefer the maneuverability and the durability of a world class motorbike over a "Nano". If there is a mistake, it would only be on my part.
