i remember 4 years ago
i ended up feeling so depressed
with the election results...
it honestly made me literally cry....
like the disappointment of it all-
i just couldnt believe it...

this time around...
i feel perhaps just as emotional
but more in a positive way...
i feel so prideful with the outcome...
go barack obama (and biden)!!!

i know ppl have their different opinions
on this board about the guy...
which hey, i guess makes it more
of a lively diverse discussion that goes on here...
either way, the results are in...
and i'm extremely happy about them...

with a new person
a new leader who will be in office..
i guess i look forward to whatever
discussion that may develope about whatever
world issues, current event news
that may take place...

election 2008- welcome everyone!!!
to new and old members...
ppl who disappear
and than return,
active, and inactive posters
who may just like to read,
lurkers, passerbys, etc...

yes we can...
what a very happy,
victorious evening it is!

Wow. I definitely felt the positive vibes that came out of the above post.

It's a esteemed privilage to be able to live and see this milestone event in American history.

The historic aspect didn't hit me until I realized that in my son's time, President Obama will be the first impression he has of what a President looks like. The previous unbroken line of white males will be from "back then".

I feel like America may have rejoined the world last night. I actually slept a bit better.

Jessy Jackson was crying, as if all racism has been eliminated.
What about Asians? It's still a long way to go.

Jesse was crying because he knows he's about to be shipped off to Gitmo. Don't think a man forgets comments like that very quickly...!

Yes! My grandmother was crying she was so happy. After all, she lived during segregation.....

Since blacks have reached such a milestone, Jesse should start helping Asians instead from now on!

he can't help us if we can't help ourselves.
