General Wes Clark

General Wes Clark is a veteran 4 Star General, former Supreme Allied Commander.
a Obama/Clark ticket would be indefeatable.
McCain's weak POW war hero angle won't hold up to a veteran 4 star general who has experience McCain wishes and continues to claim he has.

I like Clark. I wanted him to win the 2004 Democratic primary.
As for McCain, I'm tired of all this POW bullshit. Another reason why I think we put the military on a pedestal way too much. They just end up with an exaggerated sense of importance especially the peons. I mean seriously, we were fighting a war, your ass got captured, you got tortured and you lived. Ok grats, let's move the fuck on. You already have veteran's day, memorial day and I'm pretty sure I might be missing one or two more holidays to acknowledge and celebrate your trials and tribulations.

Clark is a good man and good charisma I'm not sure he could fight dirty like he might have to in politics. Take the Obama/Clark ticket and put Hillary somewhere in the shadows to fight dirty with the GOP during the campaign then come out as Secretary of State after a win and I might be a happy camper.

I was a big Clark supporter in 04. I still think that if he didn't skip Iowa, he could be president right now.
Having said that, he's not exactly unbiased.
Obama/Clinton with Clark as Secretary of Defense and Richardson as Secretary of State.

Obama would thoroughly kick McCain's ass if he picked Clark as running mate. actually come to think of it, it amazes me that McCain actually grabbed the Republican nomination. lots of conservatives don't like him, and he has the charisma of a snail.
reading the shit that he went through in Vietnam though, i have to admire his tenacity. but Clark does make a good point in that McCain really was never very high up in the military.

I don't put in much stock in what Clark said. McCain was a career military man. He knows what he's talking about. The problem is that I don't trust military men.
If Rove went to work for McCain, he could thoroughly dismantle Clark. Remember, Kerry was supposed to have the military edge over Bush. Clark is no different. Clark has his critics in the military. In fact, it was the liberals who attacked him during the Kosovo campaign for nearly starting WW3.

I still think had Collin Powell run in 1996, Bill Clinton would not have been remembered as the only other democrat to win re-election since FDR.

McCain and Kerry were both grunts while Clark was a general. There's a huge difference.
I strongly disagree with your idea of Hillary as VP. She would make an excellent cabinet member, but she brings little to the presidential ticket. Her affinity with "hardworking Americans, white Americans" was only there because she was running against a black dude. It's not as if the decade-long hatefest that the Republicans had at her expense suddenly vanished b/c she became the second coming of Ronald Reagan. She has no real executive and military experience, and she also doesn't bring any marginal regional benefits. Not only that, but her unrepentent Iraq vote and insider status will diminish Obama's appeal as a fresh face.
And no, she will not bring 18 million voters with her because the vast majority of them will go Democratic anyway, except for the Harriet Christians but we don't want her kind anyway.

I think Webb might have and edge over Clark as a VP candidate.
