The irony that I found out about this from my husband rather than AA land.

Anyhow, Jessica Yu is a director who mainly made documentaries before this but here it is... all about the Asian male by an Asian female director. It does look tongue in cheek, bittersweet, reminiscent of Napoleon Dynamite so I don't know how the guys will feel about it.

I saw this movie at a recent film festival. I'm a guy. I really liked this movie. It's funny. really funny. funniest movie you'll see this year. Jessica Yu is pretty hot too. I'm surprised she's a movie director. she can be a hot actress. But she made a really good movie.

btw, kimpossible, why do you find it ironic? is your husband not asian?

at the screening, i saw alot of non-asians in the theatre. And it looked like they all enjoyed the movie too. It's not all about asians, it's about basketball and ping pong.

Oh man, that's such a relief to hear it's solid and funny in the "laugh with it" way. I do so want to see it. I also might fancy Roger Fan a bit.

re: spouse. He usually disdains anything Asian American so I was surprised he both found it and was interested. And yes, he's Asian. Well, Chinese.
