Hmmm...
I have my own faith.
I believe there is a higher power, fractured into aspects by the adherents of various religions.
But I also believe that there is an anima in all things. The rock, the sky, the leaf and the beast.
I keep some of the old rites of my ancestors because they make sense to me. I pay homage to the spirits of the world. I also pay my respects to my ancestor spirits who I know watch over me and my kin.
I embrace the tenets of Taoism without seeing it as religion, but rather a life philosophy.
I have performed the old rituals to banish evil or malign spirits from the homes of my relatives and friends. I wear the Buddhist rosary because it helps me to channel my spirit. I also create the Chinese seals that my grandfather once taught me to make in order to bless or protect places.
I do all this but can still laugh at myself and what I do. My faith is not so weak as to take umbrage because of modern skepticism nor at well-crafted humor. In the end, I can just say I am a devout Stephenist. ; )
