it's a lazy sunday morning, i'm waiting for friends to wake up, and i'm deciding whether to drag them to go to:
1) chiu chow noodles in la chinatown
2) neuromein & dumplings in la chinatown
3) dim sum (did that last weekend though)
where do you like to go for brunch on sundays?

where'd you end up going?
to answer your question: church (haha)
You know, I don't think I've ever been out to dim sum before. Sad, ennit?

so the neuromein place in chinatown - where they make their own noodles and dumplings (in the wing hop fung plaza) closed down!!!
we ended up eating at a hk cafe, where you can get pork chops over rice, baked seafood, or prime rib lunch specials for $5. gotta love the hk cafes.
you've never had dim sum...? what state do you live in?
Eggs, bacon & toast cooked in the comfort and quiet of my own home.
Dim sum is great, but it also means waking up a lot earlier and driving to the east side. Went to the New Capital Seafood, formerly Sam Woo Seafood at Focus last weekend with the in-laws. Crowded as hell.
I don't understand the people that feel compelled to stand right in front, staring down the host who's calling out the numbers so people can get seated. Do they think if they aren't monitoring the activities, the host is going to do something shady and give their table to someone else? Relax, people!

None of the above, but only because I don't want to drive down to Oakland's Chinatown. Otherwise, I would go for the twochew/chaozhou/whatever mein/mian/whatever if I were in the mood for Asian.
Otherwise...house-made corned-beef hash...cornmeal pancakes...savory crepes...chicken-fried steak...that kind of stuff pervades my dreams on Sunday mornings...

HK Cafe, set meals!
In Taiwan was still now always crazing 美而美 breakfast, wish it was in America.

wish they have some chiu chow noodle places here in south OC. so i don't have to go up to San Gabriel area for a sunday brunch. Even my favorite taiwanese noodle place here in Irvine closed down =(
and sometimes i'm craving for slightly drier sticky rice that has chinese sausage and dried shrimp in there. the one from dim sum are totally different. again can't find it down here.
it's necessary, alex. that's why you had to stand in a crazy line and i didn't.I stood in no line. I just sat back, relaxed, and was seated according to the number we were assigned.=)

oh i love brunch!
do you usually do chinese food for brunch?
i have trouble eating korean food that early
but for some reason i can do chinese food for brunch.
some weekends i crave pancakes, other times dim sum.
i did dimsum with mom and sis today.
tomorrow i'll be having pancakes with friends.
good brunch places are always so busy and loud.
i hate starting my day like that.
so i never go to really good brunch places.

Think I'm gonna have me some shrimp and grits.
dim sum is my favorite, but the absolute best place to eat it is super jammed packed on the weekends. take-out is no better as you have to wait an HOUR for your order!
i can't remember the last time i had brunch....must have been 3-4 years ago?

dim sum sounds soooooo good right now.
On cold mornings, I like to eat pho.
my most favorite thing to eat is the breakfast burrito at this local mexican restaurant.

I can give you some recommendations for Portland. A lot of people drive north to Seattle or more usually, Vancouver, but there are some adequate places in the Portland area. Let me know what you want. Dim sum, Taiwanese cafe, bakery, or Japanese food and what part of the Portland metro area you are willing to drive or Max to.
