Hey GUYS!

I'm doing a walk on 30 July 2006 in London for Walk for Life. It's about a 2-3 hour walk around London. The only benefit I'm getting out of it is some pictures that I'll be taking, and most likely some food and water.

If anyone is in London, and would like to join, maybe we can start a team? PM me?

Anyone not in London, but would like to help out, you can help sponsor me by donating some money at www.walkforlife.co.uk/andrewwang
I'm not asking for loads of money, just however much you feel you can give.

Some facts about aids:
- A large majority of the AIDS victims are from developing countries, Walk for Life is charity for both London and Africa.

- AIDS treatment runs about 1200$ a month!

- The AIDS victims who are able to regain some of their strength usually have a supporting family, good clinics, and medicine.

So please guys, help out!

If you want, I can draw stuff for you guys, or dance in my panda suit to whatever song. Just tell me what I can do to get you to donate some money!

Hey Andrew,
Good on ya!!
Why did you decide on this one? There's a ton of other races/walks that are happening this summer - and normally the London marathon is the one that a lot of foreigners will sign up for.

If I'm in town that day, I'll come along and shout out your name.

Because it's a pleasant walk through london. I don't think i could do any hardcore runs.

I've also been really interested in the AIDS virus since I was in Kindergarten (I remember bringing Kindergarten fun to a halt when I asked what AIDS was, sigh, the good ole days). The idea of something that mutates quickly was fascinating. My anthropology teacher does AIDS work in Africa every summer, and I really liked it when she recounted her time there. It's a very serious problem, and I would like to help out. Furthermore, Days before I read about this walk in London, I was reading about new AIDS drugs, and the history of AIDS drugs. I had no idea that it was about 1200 a month to get medicine. I knew it was expensive, but that's like...a Apple computer every month!! Sorry, I'm rambling because I haven't had a chance to organize these thoughts in my head. But yeah.

What other walks are there? I haven't really done as much charity work as I have when I'm in the states, and would love to do more in the month and half I still have left here. Preferably some that do not require soliciting donations because I seem to not be doing well at that.

There are a lot of charity walks and runs taking place in July. Some of my friends are doing a 100km Trailwalker walk from Portsmouth to Brighton this weekend, for the Gurkhas. Another friend is doing Cancer Research Run For Life (5k) - if you Google it, you'll get lots of hits.

I've only done the smaller runs in the past, like a 5k run. The first time I did it, I got donations for a cancer charity, but when I did it last year, I just did it for myself. Found it a hassle to keep asking people for money...

hahaha!

Anyway, the walk was GREAT! I met some cool people, had a few laughs, listened to some interesting music.

EVERYONE! Do this next year, it's amazing!

I went to the races in Ascot, but ate at the Royal Dragon, Gerrard Street, and spent the evening in Soho, drinking coffee, eatng cake, and watching the boys watchng the boys. Didn't see any panda-faced guys . . .

I have no idea where that is, but are you sure? I was wearing a blue collared shirt with an orange on it.
