Do you like your co-workers?

I just started my second job today (at Burger King). The first job I had was at a telemarketing company.

Anyway.................the job at BK that I have now, is much easier. But, like when I worked at Sitel (the telemarketing company), MY COWORKERS ARE ASSHOLES! The managers are cool. And we had a couple of unruly customers who tried to give me some shit (I worked the register) but I still didn't mind that cause either way it goes they were out the door in five or ten minutes, max. Coworkers you have to fuck with for your whole shift. Most of my coworkers are a bunch of smart asses and lazy asses who need a good ass slap, but shit it took too long for me to find this job to lose it for something stupid like an argument/altercation. But still.....................AARRGHH. I know I'm there for a paycheck nothing more, nothing less, but still. Should I expect more, or am I expecting too much to have some decent coworkers?

My coworkers are a bunch of frat boys, basically. Talk amongst themselves about their wicked frat parties from the past weekend and what not. The only one I really chill with is the more low key one I hit up to go to lunch with on occasion. You'd never think they knew anything about analytical predictive software by looking at them in their Pac Sun outfits.

I have been working from home of late. My officemate is my dog. She pretty much keeps to herself. I am really happy about her being here.

However, I'll be working and interacting with my new coworkers next month as I just got a new project. I hope I get an office but more than likely a cubicle for sure. I am sure there will be some egotistical developers, architects, and worse, the wet behind the ears consultants that will piss me off, but we'll see.

Anyhow, for the last few years, I hardly 'hang' with my coworkers that much . Sometimes, I do lunch with them but no more happy hours or other after hours activities. Between work, gym, ,errands, my group of friends, and my girlfriend, there is not much time left. In a way, that's kind of good. Asshole coworkers don't bother me that much as a result.

Most of my co-workers in my current job are so-so. They are a reserved bunch, not open at all. Some don't say much as if they will lose their edge or something, some are very selective who they talk with, some are downright arrogant, full of themselves and racist. The few good ones are usually scattered and not all are working in the same department. My co-workers from my summer job many years ago are probably the best bunch, but we have all changed our career paths since. The good old times were short-lived.

I may get an interview for an oracle database administrator next week at the NBC Tower, which would make me in charge of said co-workers that bug me. We shall see what conspires.

Just got a new frat boy worker in the office this past week. I suspect that since we can refer people, they're just referring all their friends to this dept. Dude is talking to me now, the most annoying and abrasive motherfucker I've ever heard. It's like his voice only knows one volume, loud as hell. Just on and on. "Hey Terrence, you and me should go out for a drink after work." "Nah, I don't drink, man. Appreciate it." "Aww, man you gotta come with me to O'Duffy's, man. It's aweeeeesome!"

Lots of them in my gym. I love hearing how many "bitches" they "banged" over the weekends. Most of them have girlfriends that would make anyone non-Caucasian win at life, and because I work out/hang out with them, I'd probably get shot\get my house bombed if I had anyone other than a hot Blonde/Brunette with pretty large boobs.
