Companies aren't offering waist sizes that go small enough for me. I have a 28 inch waist with a measuring tape. I go to the store to buy jeans and when they do sell a "size 28" pants, I try them on and they are at least 30-31 inches around my waist. To make them "fit" I have to scrunch them with a belt. Don't asians have smaller waists? Shouldn't they make smaller waists?, there are plenty of asian people in america.
Anyone else have a a 28 waist, and why can't they sell more sizes for thin men?
Thanks.

[1] Why do you have your ethnicity listed as "Caucasian" ?
[2] Assuming this is a serious question, how long have you been in the USA ? Because if you haven't been here long you would know that most clothes off the rank will shrink after being washed and dried the first time.

If you have a 28 inch waist, you're skinny. Eat some fucking meat.
my dad was 28 but now he's 29. you probably don't want to wear higher-waisted, straight-leg/tapered pants like he does, but if you DID, those sizes can usually be found on sale racks.

I don't think you can gain muscle on your hip bones. I think that when people gain weight there is it fat. I am gaining muscle.
But my waist size is not chainging.

my waist is around 28-29". i've wanted to gain weight, but it takes me enuf effort to keep my weight at its current level. so yeah, i have to look pretty hard for good fitting pants too. i know diesel makes jeans w/ a 28" waist. but of course u'll pay $200+ for them.

Well lots of people make pants as size 28, but they aren't actually near 28 inches. I think they have inflated each number a few inches to counter for rising obesity. I heard that in just a few years the average size has gone up four sizes.
My BMI, body mass index is 20.6, which isn't really underweight, but I'd like to get it to 22.
You can calculate your BMI here.

I'm a 29 or 30 in waist, so I have to usually buy regular priced pants and not the ones on sale cause by that time, the sizes left are like 36, 38, and 40. In any case, the real problem I have with buying pants in America is because they're tailored for taller people...and uhh, I'm just not. I'm not even that short, but I still step on my pants with a 30 length...it's annoying.

I had a 28 inch waist before my metabolism shitted out. Ahhhh those were the days. I could eat and eat and never gain an ounce.

I wear 30s. Not being fashion conscious, I always buy my pants at Mervyn's, and they always have size 28s and 32s, but often times no size 30s. I think this is a case of it appearing that what you need always seems to be in short supply. Either that, or you need to start shopping at Mervyn's cuz they have plenty in exactly your size.

Try gaining weight... (depending on your height?)
I'm 5'6"
I had a 29 waist.
then i started getting serious about working out, martial arts, bboying/dancing, supplementing and I went from 121 - 125lb to 146 - 153lb in 6 months.
on the downside.. none of my jeans fit me anymore. I'm a 31/32 now. So my expensive jeans... Sevens, Diesels, A|X, Guess
don't fit me anymore. what a waste of money.
Your waist size can change a little bit.
Working out tends to make your legs get huge. and your abs get more defined. etc.
If you get pants that are too long you can just always have them hemmed at any dry cleaning place for 10 bucks.

who the hell keeps pictures of their chest online?
First off.... what a dork you are for posting this.
Secondly, people with less common sizes (waist, inseam, etc..) & men who know how to wear a suit, have all figured out what a taylor is.
Kidding aside, if you want to dress well as a man... suits, slacks, business wear, uniforms, etc... You'll have to shell out a few extra bucks to have your nice clothes fitted.
You'll look and feel better about what you wear, plus you'll tend to take of what you're wear. Its all about the details...

Those size 30 pants from a couple years back are obsolete. Size 32 has taken over, and damn it if I can't locate ones that fit well. They're either too short or too long. I need to get this shit tailored.

I shopped for belts the other day and apparantly top designers don't make size 30 belts (but they do make size 30 pants). WTF?
I had to get 32s and hope they don't look stupid on the smallest notch.

Well.. I know Coach doesn't make size 30 belts, but there's Banana Republic. They make em'.
Damnit.. I must be getting fat, cuz I can't fit size 30 belts anymore. :frown:

Yeah, Gap and BR do. I'm not sure about J Crew and AX and all them, but I was looking at Hugo Boss and CK and RL belts and they were all in 32 or larger.

You can try asking the stores if they have the belt size in stock before going over to buy one. For what I know, I'm pretty sure AX and J Crew has those belt sizes. CK and RL is also a possibility, but I'm almost sure Hugo Boss doesn't have that size regularly.

It's probably statistics, with the confidence interval and stuff. Have you tried buying kids belts?

Kids belts? Dude, I'm a 30. That's not a kid size.
Anyway, they make belts in those sizes, just not the designers that make the clothes I wear.
What, do you think Hugo Boss makes belts for kids that cost a hundred bucks? Yeah, I thought so too.
my boyfriend has a br belt that i think is way too big for him. it's the one without the notches. when he wears it, six inches stick out, and that's AFTER he puts it through the loop. i think he has a girly waist.

Haha, I hear you. I used to be a 30 waist like back in '04, when I was running track. I still run now, but on my own time, and I've gotten up to a 32.

Ever since I stopped being very active (bike riding everyday) I've grown from 29 to 31. I think by the end of the year, I'll be a 32 myself.

Just find a belt that has a buckle that can detach from the belt. Cut down the belt to fit. Simple.

Wouldn't that be hard if it's a leather belt? You almost can't alter a leather belt and still have it look good after you're done.

Maybe you should redirect your sarcasm towards the fact that you don't have a normal waist size. Yeah, i thought so too.

My lowest waist size ever was a little less than 27...now I'm at 29 or so...but i like my pants a bit on the loose and relaxed side anyway so I don't mind buying sizes of up to even 32 or 33.

Maybe your attempt at a comeback would've made sense if you had put a question before "yeah, I thought so too" rather than a declaratory statement which isn't designed to invoke a response to which "yeah, i thought so too" would've been an appropriate reply to.
But it didn't.

if size 28 is too big for you, you need to gain some mass. that is unless you want your girlfriend to wear the pants in the relationship, literally.

About to run out to the mall later on to pick up a few more pairs anyway. I usually only have pants in black, tan, gray, or some mixture of black and gray. Multi color pants don't really do it for me.
