do you have nightmares after watching scary movies, or just in general?
I used to have nightmares all the time as a child. Usually they consisted of these intense sensations of being isolated and alone. I honestly think it all stemmed from being locked in the garage by my mother when I was just three years old 'cause I wouldn't stop crying (my dad was pissed when he found out what she did). But I'm all better now.=)

>> oh man i have some fucked up dreams...when i was a kid i sat down with this pleasantville type family and when i looked back at them all their skin melted off and they were just skeletons and the weird part was i acted like it was NORMAL...geezus...
>> one of the more recent and most scariest dreams was when i was in my house in san jose eating breakfast at the dining table and all of a sudden i feel this burning all over my back and im shoved up against the table and i cant breathe...i run to my bro's room and lock the door and start crying, ghosts appear on the computer screen and open a crack in the door and cabinets are opening and closing and towels are floating in the hallway...i run out the front door to find the whole street deserted...im alone. i run back into the house slam the door fall on my knees crying and scream out the door to leave me alone...and then i woke up.. once in a while i still get that burning sensation all over my back =P
>> you ever get those dreams where its just like ur half asleep half awake...but you cant move a muscle? and theres like a dark figure walking around you? those are scary as fuck...=/

Nightmares only on occasion.
Not after scary movies, though. After scary movies, I usually just don't sleep.

You know what's sad...I don't think I've EVER in my entire life had an erotic dream of ANY manner.
Most of my dreams consist of either space adventures, nightmares, or me going on a killing spree (or being killed). Does that make me a sick person?
I think my worst nightmare is that I marry a girl who I never had sex with and never saw naked. Of course on the honeymoon night...she turns out to be a man! Needless to say I hurled myself off the hotel building faster than the Flash.

I tried to watch the Ring with a friend of mine, and I closed my eyes to most of the gorey parts. My mind works really wierd... perhaps, I'm a bit O.C.D, but if I see something really disturbing or haunting and quite realistic, then those images will resurface in some form of paranoia later on when I'm alone in my car driving at night or when it's storming and I'm alone at my place. When I was 17-19 years old or so, I used to get a lot of nightmares because I went through some trauma when I was 17. And for all of you who are familiar with PTSD, I was in the midst of that due to this trauma I experienced. The common theme in my nightmares is that some awful almost invincible character is always chasing after me, I NEVER die or get any blood gushing out of me. Sometimes, I'll try to fly in my dreams to avoid something AGAIN chasing after me. When I wake up, I'm always tired from my "rest" because so much energy is spent running around like a chicken with her head cut off in my nightmare. I was psychologically spent, so to speak.
Especially during the periods when I became numb, I had these out-of-body-experience nightmares. It's really freaky. I'm freaking myself thinking about it, but what usually happens is that I go to sleep, I have a nightmare of someone chasing after me again, my eyes open, I can't move my body at all, my eyelids are heavy too to keep me from waking up, and all my energy is spent trying to wake my body up from sleep. In other words, I'm sleeping, I have a nightmare, but I see myself inside my own body but having absolutely no control over it. It's like having a dead body with living eyes rolling around. Ah lovely image. I know, in a way, that I've overcome this PTSD for the most part b/c now I have dreams that have nothing to do with being chased. They're normal dreams about everyday people I know, and sometimes I tend to laugh during my sleep b/c of some random hilarious aspect of my dream.
Some of my guy friends don't really understand why I don't like scary movies, but they respect my decision.

^-- There really aren't any gory images in The Ring. Just a few disturbing ones.

When I was younger I used remember all my dreams and nightmares, but lately, I rarely recall a dream I've had the night before. I once dreamt that I could teleport and that was pretty cool. I also had this nightmare once where I was in the desert surronded by a bunch of cats. They were freaking me out, but then it started to rain. So the cats turned into little radio controlled cars and tried to run me over. I'm not sure what kind of whacky things are floating around in my head, but that was the oddest dream I'd ever had.
