View Full Version : Don't forget to change yer clocks!
Just a friendly reminder to set your clocks back one hour. Good thing is we get one extra hour of sleep (of course, I'm not sleeping for some strange reason). Bad thing is we lose one hour of daylight in the evening. I hate that...

I guess the time change only applies to those living in areas affected by daylight savings time... (We're in standard time now, right??)

Daylight Savings Time is stupid. If you want an extra hour of sunlight in your day, just get up earlier. Wacky.

Wake up earlier?! Are you mad?! You must be a morning person...=P
Personally, I think it's nice to get out of the office during a regular work day and still be able to enjoy a few good hours of daylight. Now it'll be dark before I even leave...
Standard time: good for farmers, not for office folk.

No, I'm not a morning person. At all.
Starting your day out earlier or later does pretty much the same thing as changing your clock. Time hasn't really changed, you've just adjusted your day. Same as could be done by getting up earlier.

It was actually started a billion years back when Ben Franklin came up with it to save money on candle wax.

True, we could all adjust our own personal schedules to take advantage of the extra hours of sunlight without daylight savings time. Unfortunately, some people work so they don't really have the ability to change their schedules as they please. Hence we have daylight savings time/standard time which basically forces everyone onto the same schedule to account for the seasons.
Personally, think they've got it reversed and should make it "Spring back, Fall forward" as I would prefer the sun to set at 8:00pm every day. It's much harder for me to appreciate the sun in the morning before I go into the office and I could really care less if it was still dark on my way to the office. Of course, I guess people are dependent upon the sun and its effects melatonin levels to wake up, so they tailor everything around sunrise...
