Haha, some girl I work with showed this to me on Friday, and I thought it was hilarious, as I see this everytime I go to the mall.

Sorta, I just got my pair of geeky square glasses, but unlike the typical EMO I only wear bootcut faded jeans, and instead of converse or vans I wear adidas or puma sneakers. Oh and I also don't ave any deep reads

if i were you, and you were me, we would play accordians till half past three.

and with a cup of tea we would rejoice, although there's still no sign of that rolls-royce
(because we may be swell, but we still haven't got enough boys.)

i have not hear the term emo being used here in ny. emo is or was called village chic here for the longest time.
i'm, not emo. i'm goomba guido.
I think it's mainly male musicians who sing about extreme angst, love and heartbreak like Elliot Smith, Bright Eyes and many others.

Yeah. It must be a West Coast thing.
I wasn't sure how "emo" looked until now.
I have the socks, shoes, stripes, and bag, but I don't look that look. I like it and I frequent thrift stores, but never buy anything.
Emo-lite?

Secondhand clothes are eco-friendly so emos feel good wearing them.

i thought emo's just cared about looking cool...
I think along with looking cool they are so guilt-ridden and angst-ridden they support progressive causes.

Oh yeah those penguin shirts.
they were popular in taiwan when we were living there. my uncle and his friends wore them. they were on par with the likes of ralph lauren polo over there. more than twenty years later, they're finally popular here in the states.
My family wore them too.
They were cool once here too.

I like some of emo music and haircuts (but I'd never wear them). The rest has got to go.

I think generically it's been referred to as hipster for a while.
Secondhand clothes are eco-friendly so emos feel good wearing them.
Don't confuse emo with hippies or neo-hippies. Emo kids are apolitical and unconcerned. Somewhat of a throwback to the mods but not quite the same thing.. I see them around town riding vespas and snorting coke at parties.
The latest hipster thing here is faux-country style. Long hair & beard for men, black jeans, cowboy boots, sunglasses. Nauseating.

Not emo myself, but a portion of my friends are.
Where I come from (JK), no in Tallasassy there was a huge overlap of the indie emo kids and hippies. Hippies has a negative connotation so they're more activists.

Every time I read or hear of emo I think of Emo Phillips, as in...
I was walking home one night and a guy hammering on a roof called me a paranoid little weirdo. In Morse Code.
I might have killed this thread with the Emo Phillips reference.

I saw Hybrid L and Please Don't Die Cindy perform at J Krash last night. It was my first time going to a sports bar and being around EMO peeps.
They were both pretty good bands. So good I thought they might have already been famous and wondered why I didn't have to pay to get in.
But when I think about it, I gave the bouncer a hard look and rushed by him before he could say anything, so that might have something to do with it.
