what do you guys think of that website? I stopped going a long time ago, mostly because of repetetive arguments, racism, lack of updates, and the fact that for some odd reason I cannot access the website from my home computer.

If you dig through old threads we've already talked trash about AA.com. Not that badly though, a lot of ppl here used it. But, do you have a hapa spin on this?

yeah.. i have an AA screen name.. but i almost never go there. It seems like more of a meat market than people who actually care about being asian.
plus they site is made slow!

used to be over there. gave up about 2 and a half years ago as the inanity level and the proportion of people who tYPe LaIK dIS went up. only two or three threads i ever participated in over there were worth remembering, and those were all right after I joined.

I check in the car forums there everyday but never chat there. There are few people there I bother reading posts from. It's more of a boredom-after-working-on-car thing.

Never used AA before. Has always thought it was a very dumb place. My cousin always used to try to get me onto it, but she's dumb too. XD

i went to AA when it first came up.....when it was actually communityconnect.
i remember seeing like mebbe 5 people in the chat rooms and it was "packed" during that time.
i usually don't go there anymore. other than checking email to see if any people i knew wrote me a note.

Remember that thread earlier about wondering whether or not YW would be a better place if it was all publicized and huge? I say no, 'cuz we don't need another AA. :retard:

Maybe 2 years ago I made an AA site and an Astyle site. I rarely used AA at all because it was basically a meat market. The one person I did meet from there turned out to be freakin psycho. Astyle was awesome because it was structured like a meat market site where you could browse photos and profiles, and I actually made a lot of friends that way (online ones). they took it down and restructued it for some reason.
So then the next biggest thing was Lj... which I got into because I met a 1/2 Japanese 1/2 White girl in a Karaoke bar when I sang something in Japanese and she came to talk to me. Then eventually some of my friends recognized her because apparently her website made her into a celebrity. So i visited her site and she hooked me up with a free LJ account.
And now I am in yellowworld because of Lj, where someone advertised it in the hapa_ness forum

I only use AA because I like to design websites. I think it can be a meat market, but I've met a few good friends from there who attend my university. I also like to spread awareness about suicide, and hook people up to my favorite links that promote a sense of empowerment and awareness about issues that Asian Americans encounter. So, it's more for educational purposes. I could care less what people think about me on there. Most of the time I never respond to any of my notes unless they go to a university here in St. Louis, and over a series of email exchanges, I may feel the person's legit.

I like it, but I just don't go there anymore. I think I'm one of it's oldest members in terms of years on the planet.

I hate asian avenue as well but some of the u.k sites aren't much better either, full of kids talking about inane stuff like 'how many guys stared at you while you were on the tube' <_<
Hence the reason why i've settled down here. I can get decent interesting stimulating conversation here!
