yeah, when it comes to the work environment...
what type of personality does everyone have??
like i'm curious what ppl prefer...
do you prefer working with others...
or being able to work on your own??

i admit, i prefer being
more of an independant worker...

both.... i like to work with others b/c it's just impossible for me not to work with others for a goal but i also like enough independence not to be bothered by annoying phone calls from people who all think their request is more important than anyone elses. I tend to like work more independently and have smaller portion of my time working on a team but i prefer to have both dynamics.

Don't most people do both in the average job? You have a certain amount of work that you have to complete on your own but have to coordinate this within your group or at least one other co-worker or supervisor.

At any rate, I guess I'm like Janet but I don't think it's by choice. Post-college I haven't held a job that didn't expect an employee to posess the ability to work independently while still coordinating within a larger team to reach organizational goals. In fact if you can't handle both you tend to get fired, in my experience.

i just say i'm an independant worker...
cuz i know i hate it when i have
my boss come in to tell me what to do...
well, he doesnt really do it
that much anymore...
cuz he knows i'll take the initiative
on my own to do what needs to get done...
without being told to do so...

and i say i'm an independant worker...
cuz currently, i work on my own...
sure i have other co workers
but we all work at different shifts...
so i really dont have to deal with them...
and i'm not complaining about my situation...
cuz i actually enjoy my time being
able to work by myself...

and i say i'm an independant worker...
cuz i hate having to ask for permission or whatever...
to ask someone else
if this idea is any good or what not...
like a part of me really despises having to rely
on a team to get the majority of opinion
if a particular idea is good enough or what not...
like it feels stifling to me...
like if there are too many ppl i have to deal with...
perhaps i lose focus...
and think there are too many leaders

so i also say i prefer being an independant worker...
just cuz i like the thoughts of being free...
and being able to do what i want...
without have to really rely on others...
to pursue whatever it is i want to pursue...

Oops, I kinda went off the deep end there.

Sorry, treat what I wrote as a rant. I so didn't mean to aim that at you or come off like I was aiming that at you. It was the subject that drummed up frustrating memories of past work and college project experiences.

Both, but in team situations, it depends who's on the team.
