Can you do that with an Oriental accent?
Tired of seeing Asian Canadians limited to the roles of martial arts masters and exotic vixens? Unhappy with the media stereotypes of East and Southeast Asians? Ever wonder if people who have tattoos with Asian characters really understand what they mean or even care about Asian culture/history?
On Monday, November 15, 2004, you're invited to attend "Can you do that with an Oriental accent?"
Outspoken, insightful and highly regarded members of the Asian community will talk about the misrepresentation of Asians in the media, cultural appropriation and how you can make a difference.
