Should I warm up my engine or not? And if I should, for how long? Some things I read say it's good, some say it's bad.
Does it change with the season?

30seconds for most piston engine cars then drive easy for 10 minutes or 10 miles.
got that strait from motor trend. because as long as ur oil pumps working it should be ok just dont drive over 4000rpm for that period decribed above

With synthetic oil, virtually no warmup is necessary unless you're in the snow belt.
Some ECMs prevent you from hitting too high an RPM when the engine is cold - cold oil is thick oil, and thick oil means high oil pressures. A late model Honda will hit 120+ PSI with 5W-30 oil on a cold start.
Most engines hit full operating temp at around 10 miles of driving.

one hitch to that Rotary engine it will stumble and misfire if not warned up for 2-3 minutes and for my SR20det i let it warm up 45-1 minute ussually to make sure my turbos oiled up well (gotta be safe)

I would normally wait about 30-60 seconds to put on my seatbeat, hands free set, and a good radio station. After that, I drive off slowly and keep off the turbo until full normal operating temperature is reached.
Some other things:
Idling for too long adds to pollution.
Driving your car slowly to warm it up will help the car warm up faster.

nothing like watching a cold 13B start up, spit out a couple of fireballs before coming to a lumpy idle.
on my car i crank the motor, give it a slight rev (wake the oil squirters up), pull the key out and let the turbo timer do the rest.
