I'm studying abroad now in South England until Fall Quarter starts, and I was wondering what are some things I should go do and see and how to do it at reasonable prices.
I'd also like to find where the Chinese people live.

Some things you should do are English people.
And start a soccer riot.

Plan a day trip to London for starters. You can then take advantage of the Underground and do touristy things like visit the Tower of London (ten pounds, fifty pence for student concession), have a stroll on Tower Bridge, visit the parks (Hyde, St. James, etc.) visit the National Gallery at Trafalgar Square, peer through the gates of Buckingham Palace, visit the Horse Guards Palace, and the like. There are plenty of places to visit outside of the City too. I'm not sure if you'd qualify for a Young Person rail pass, but if you do you can save up to a third on train tickets for trips to other parts of the UK.

Yeah I have a young person rail pass, and I've gone through touristy London thing already and I'm going to be spending about a week there next week. Do you know anything about travelling to Edinburgh or Scottland?

You should definitely see Ireland because they're the coolest.
Take a ride on the chunnel to the continent, first class since it's even cheaper than flying. Go frolick around there, spending your nights sleeping on the train so you don't have to pay for a bunk at a youth hostel. Really, I think you should do fun young people things like go to clubs and raise hell.

Edinburgh is pretty nice. While you're there you can take a Ghost Walk and visit Holyrood Palace. As far as getting there is concerned you can just pop into your local station and ask for a return. You might want to spend a night since the journey is quite long. Try the National Rail website (http://www.nationalrail.co.uk/) and see what you can do to book your journey. If you're feeling adventurous you can also hop on over to the Continent and visit France or the Low Countries!
Did you buy a heritage pass? It buys admission to a whole bunch of historic sites at one set rate. I think it's even good in Scotland.
I liked the heritage pass because that way I never cared if the place turned out to be a dog and I wanted to leave quickly.
Have a great time!

Yep I'm there now, you'll have to go on the london eye, great views of london.
As regards to meeting chinese people, Londons chinatown is just as good a place as any, not many living ion Brighton as you've probbaly find out already.

You should definitely check out the nightlife in London, especially clubs such as Fabric (http://www.fabriclondon.com). Alot of fun. Spend the night clubbing then catch the train back down to Brighton.
Also, besides Chinatown, maybe go visit Queensway which is kinda sub-Chinatown. There's a restaurant call Four Seasons which does amazing Peking duck.
