whenever I try to dl a video(7mb) I get a transfer rate of 20 something kbps. is that the same for everyone? How can I make it improve faster?

you need to reset your modem/router/computer/etc. that you have connected to things. just turn everything off at the same time and turn it on again. voila, it should be back up to faster-than-you-can-download-porn speeds.
