ALPHA is supporting the move to get the Japanese government to admit to the atrocities the military government committed between 1931 and 1945.
How I Learned about the war crimes of the military government of Japan (1931-1945):
March 20, 2003: the campaign of misinformation and disinformation that began in September 2002 culminated in the Iraq invasion as missiles hit targets in Baghdad.
On March 22, 2003 I had attended ALPHA's conference Lessons from the Asia Pacific War (1931-1945).
The conference introduced me to Japan's war legacy. This does not reflect on the people of Japan today, but on militancy, far-right politics and genocide.
The conference had highlights such as Japanese-Canadian internment and redress.
At the close of the conference, all the participants spoke of their commitment to war injustices. Heavily weighing on our mind was the war on Iraq.
