Since the arrival of Ichiro in 2001 and the subsequently Hideki Matsui in 2002 and finally Kaz Matsui this year, my interest in baseball has only grown. I have parsed through the forums and have learned how to enjoy this seemingly boring game. I have come to appreciate art of fine pitching. HOwever, it's not the teams that I follow, it's the players. More specifically, the asian players. There's also Byung Hyun Kim with his awesome side-winding delivery pitching for the Red Sox and that Taiwanese Rockies prospect. The other aspects of the game, I view with only cursory interest.

I suppose this makes me a promiscuous fan. I root for the Mariners, the Red Sox, the Mets, and the Yankees. A most incongruous set of teams eh?

I don't know how this has much to do with AE. I'm moving it to Sports.

I think there was a Japanese male who was a professional wrestler.

I forgot his name, but he was big and very buff. He had a white girlfriend wearing a kimono. So annoying.

I also have the same mentality as you do, ...cheer on the Asian athletes. This is why I have been following the Houston Rockets lately.

That's a shame. Baseball is an interesting and enriching and dynamic sport that transcends races. If you're only in it for the Asian players then you're missing the point.

I hope all the Korean players succeed, but the only statistic that reall matters in this sport is team wins and team losses. It's much more interesting to follow how a team does.

Tsuyoshi Shinjo

He's now pitching for the Nippon-ham Fighters cuz he couldn't cut it in the majors anymore.

IMHO, baseball is an incrediblely boring sport despite its diversity.
