On Tuesday, March 2, 2004, with a turnout of nearly 200 Museum supporters, the Los Angeles City Council unanimously voted to pass the motion for space expansion of the Chinese American Museum. The remainder of the vacant Garnier Building is now allocated to the Museum for future exhibit development and educational programming.
