Passing it on from a friend...
You're invited to an exciting reception this Saturday (see below for the
formal invitation)!
If you can't make it to the reception, please visit the Japanese American
Museum of San José to check out the work of my favorite cartoonist Jack
Matsuoka, and awe-inspiring stories and pictures by the children of the Boys
and Girls Club of Silicon Valley. You'll like it. Open to the public. No
reservation necessary.
Dear families and friends,
I would like to invite you to the opening reception of the new art exhibit,
3Jack Matsuoka1s Cartoons: Making the Best of Poston2 and its companion
exhibit, 3Like Jack, Making the Best of It2. 3Jack Matsuoka1s Cartoons2 is
the story of my imprisonment as a 16-year old in Poston, Arizona1s
internment camp for Japanese immigrants and their U.S.-born children
during WWII. 3Like Jack2 is an exhibit by the Boys and Girls Clubs of
Silicon Valley sharing stories and artwork about how they, too, made the
best of it during their hardships. It is an honor to serve the education
community with this exhibit. My hope is that through education we can help
each other protect our civil liberties.
