I am making this post quick, I am posting from an internet cafe in Bangkok.
The place is definitely an experience, its kinda like a developing Chinatown in NYC. Alot of white people here! LOL
the food here is fucking awesome and not to mention cheap. If you want an exotic experience and see South East Asia, I'd recommend Thailand. The people here are pretty friendly but seldom speak english (so I have to use hand gestures alot of the time).
I'll post pics when I get back to the US at the end of Jan.
I'll keep you guys updated.
Off to Chang Mai I go for some jungle trekking.

Cipherous,
If you get the chance check out the giant golden Buddha and temple. Also there's a kick ass snake show (I forget where) around town somewhere.

Again from Bangkok, I'll probably head up to Chang mai in like 2 days. Need to sort out some stuff first.
I went out to see what the Night life is like and not surprisingly, there were prostitutes everywhere. You often will see 20 year old Thai girls with like middle aged White guys...kinda sad to see these girls selling their bodies like the way they do. But keep in mind that many of these girls are in extreme poverty and they do anything to get by.
I looked around the back alleys and tried to get a glimpse of what real Thai life is like (aside from the perspective of a tourist). You can see that these people work extremely hard and get by. Albiet, Thailand is growing at a very rapid pace, there is still alot to be done here (just as anywhere else).

It's been a while since I was last in Bangkok. I remember being like a kid in a candy store when I got to Patpong. Did you know that women can shoot darts out of there peepees with enough speed and accuracy to pop ballons? Holy smokes!

Hello from Chaing Mai,
beautiful city and the weather is nice and cool. Although its Thailand's 2nd biggest city, Chaing mai is very quite. You seldom see any cars at night, especially after 10.
Thailand's main industry is tourism and its evident. It seems that almost everything here is aimed at tourism. From the western style night clubs to the starbucks, alot of businesses are geared towards tourists.
I've seen all types of people here. I see Japanese, Chinese, Indians, middle eastern, whites (that speak fluent thai).
thats all for now, will post pics when I get back. This place is beautiful, I am definitely gonna to miss it.

the soi next to patpong is fun. silom soi 4.
great little bars around there.
i <3 khao sarn road, the old backpacker district,
my favourite bar there is austin bar. and there's
also the banglumpoo bar on the pier, which is
awesome.
in town there's clubs like dbl 0 and the bedsupper
club. also q-bar which is good to go to on weeknights.
the conrad has 87. which is a fantastic meat market
at night.
shopping wise: MBK/Siam is fun. chinatown to get
electronics and gadgets, suan lum night bazaar for
late night shopping, much much cheaper than patpong,
and weekend market for a hell of a time.

it dpepends where in chiang mai you are actually. the main city centre is definitely geared towards tourism, but if you go up into the mountains or have a local show you arround, as opposed to lonely planet guides, there's still some places untouched by tourism.
if you have a chance go up to the hot springs which are wonderful, don't give money to the little hill tribe kids though, is mostly a gang. becareful if you do drugs, the police are keeping a tight watch over that area now, and the prostitures there aren't as clean as the regulated ones in bangkok, if you're planning to have some rented company.
the BEST italian restaurant in thailand is at Chiang Mai. it's called the La Gondola Restaurant, the roast beef marinated in vinegrette is to die for so is the sliced eggplant parmiginaani. Art Cafe is one of my favourite places to visit, serves international food and has a cute little bakery.
and i LOVE the tea house siam celadon <3 great colonial thai stuff there.

haha, nah I won't be bringing home any prositutes or doing drugs. What I expect out of this trip is to apperciate life.
as for the italian resturant, I am not planning on going there. I can get it at home any time I want.
I really like going to the little corner and side walk resturants, I prefer to patronize them rather the big businesses.
thailand is awesome and I'd shutter to think what Thais can accomplish once the country is well established. In 30 years, I'd say Thailand will be the rice bowl of South East Asia.
