Anybody use XM radio? How is it?
I wanna get the XM receiver that attach it to your stereo at home and in your car. There's a $30 rebate and it's only $9.99 a month...
Delphi Skyfi receiver:

The programming looks prety good:

my brother has it in his new car. it's free for the first three months. something like 160 stations, separated into different genres. he's proabbly gonna pay the $10 a month to keep it.
personally, i don't really find it necessary, at least in the car. i wouldn't pay for it. (even though i'm extremely particular about what i listen to. i flip stations constantly to make sure i get the "best" song at that particular moment in time. and commercials...forget it.)

hmm. I'm not THAT into music so I wouldn't pay for such a service. i'd get lost with all of those channels. I suppose if you don't mind giving up the $10/month, then go for it.
I've never had any experience with XM.

My friend has it in his new car and I think it sucks. He can't even get XM while driving on the lower span of the Bay Bridge.

yep. for some reason they haven't gotten around to boosting the supposedly-available transmitters to cover areas with weak/no signal. maybe if there was an $80 skyfi package that came with the portable stereo thing i might get it. $10/mo is awfully expensive, especially since a lot of people have unsecured wireless internet in my region; all i need to get is one of the creative labs nx external cards for my laptop for some decent sound...

Hmm... I live out in the country, so maybe reception is better for me. Guess I'll check some local car modification forums to see what reception is like...

as long as you don't have much clutter in the way of skyscrapers/silos/gigantic balls of twine around reception should be pretty good. in the states around nebraska? you should be fine
It's awsome for the first few months, but they play the some stuff over and over again and you get sick of it. Nothing beats my mp3 collections.
