Much has been made about the emasculation of the Asian male in popular culture. Do you feel emasculated?

I don't personally feel emasculated 'cause I know damn well what I am and what I'm capable of. I certainly haven't bought into the hype and I would hope that no Asian male ever has. Unfortunately, as long as we're portrayed as less-than-men in pop culture, that's how the masses will continue to perceive us. 'til that changes, we'll just have to change people's perspectives one person at a time.

i don't feel emasculated by society's standards however i do feel emasculated on my own standards.
I have always felt the need to be masculine, yet not all the time.
Is it that we as Asian males have something to prove? Should we start picking up white women and fucking them? Would that make me masculine as an Asian male? Or would that bring back the paranoia of white males, the paranoia created in the heyday of slavery and sex between white mistresses and black male slaves? Is male Asian emasculation in white society something that we truly want? If that does happen, it will only bring to us more harm than good because of the white male fears of inferiority to those whom are 'genetically inferior.' Asian males will be the next minority to be stepped upon due to the threat of taking their precious white women.

Hell no! Simply being bombarded with portrayals of Asian males as less-than-men in American mass-media is one thing. Buying into those portrayals would just be plain stupid.

How would you define emasculation?

How about this: be unemployed for seven months. That'll sap the vigor out of anyone.

But what'll absolutely suck it completely from every orifice from your body, until you're left with nothing but a journal to lament to?

Here are some helpful suggestions!

* Live in Koreatown Los Angeles. You might think the general decay and ghetto-ness you smell around here would logically go hand-in-hand with the decay in your life -- but there's more! As any Korean will tell you, this place is a bastion for consumption and waste, and not just of the women. A few years back when Korea was having its financial troubles, I'd tell my friends that if the clubs and cafes pooled together the resources they skimmed from young people, we'd bring the country out of debt. So try getting into the have-not group.

* Have Superwoman as your girlfriend. Obviously, this option would be limited to the small group of losers lucky enough to have ambitious, successful women interested in them: to you, I salute. My girlfriend unwittingly contributes to my emasculation...by just breathing, I guess. Let's recount how her upward mobility kicks my ass: 1) She's a second year law student (*slap*); 2) at one of the best law schools in the country (*punch*); 3) she volunteers at a law clinic (*knee to stomach*); 4) she represented a woman who'd been in jail for over 15 years for murder, and successfully convinced a panel to offer probation for the first time (*knife to stomach*); 5) she won nearly every major scholarship honoring civic participation (*run over by car*); 6) was offered a summer job at a top civil rights law firm and begins work next week.

I agree. I'd rephrase it as every great man has a greater woman supporting him and telling him what to do. Has she given you any advice that you wanna tell us achtung? In any case, what type of job is ideal to you and have you tried getting a low-wage fun job like working at the mall or some place where either the women are hot, the food is good, the environment is satisfying or doing something you wanna do,etc? City and FED jobs pay well and you'll never get fired, from deskjobs to supervisory ones. All kinds out there; mailman, airport security, janitors, man you name it. I'm looking into an imigration officer job at ins, hope I get it.
