Ok, I'm bored out of my mind and need suggestions for what to do in Minneapolis. I've spent the last three days or so with children and older folks.... Anyone live here and have any suggestions?

I dunno. I was there for a few days in August and there wasn't much.

And it's cold there right now, too, huh?

There's the Mall of America in Bloomington, there's a decent size Vietnamese section near Hennepin Avenue, there's the Four Corners downtown nightclub section. There's a lot more, but it's been years since I've lived in MN (about 8 now).

representin, yo!

There's some night life/clubs in downtown minneapolis, on first and second avenu/henepin aka the tropics, quest, refugee, old chicago, brothers...most of them dont need cover chargers......there's a new entertainment complex called block E, where a new theater, bunch of restraunts......applebee :D a borders bookstore and a crown theater.......

and then there's a new luxury hotel-le meridian, and if you have a few hundred (or possibly more $$$$ around), check out the VIP lounge or whatever that club in there is called........and check it out yourself....there's some eye candies....:p

that's about all i know about minneapolis, l've lived here about 6 years now, mostly in high school in da burbs.......and yeah, it's a really boring state, but a good place IMO for secondary educations. :D

The bad thing about the Twin Cities is that it's "up and coming" meaning that there really aren't many attractions. There's a few museums, some nightclubs, bars, but no entertaining places densly packed together like in some cities. Hennepin and Lyndale will have most of the shopping, and Nicollet Avenue will hold most of the places to eat. DT Minneapolis is cool, especially the Warehouse District and the area close to Homo Heights (forget what that area is really called). Oh, and we have that ugly fucking Mall of America.

PS
I agree with yoMAMA, St. Paul does suck :)

Gay 90's, pfft. Bolt is way more hardcore, and let's not forget the Minneapolis Eagle. Mmmm...assless chaps...

Aha! I just remembered! Homo Heights = Loring Park. That was driving me crazy.

Hah, you're forgetting the large gay population that's there all year. Every day is gay pride day in Loring Park. And the Gay Pride festival is all over the city. Loring Park actually has the start of the parade, but the party is held deeper downtown. Good times :)

Note: I need more straight friends.

Also, check out the timberwolves games, and you are very likely to see Jimmy Jam (the dude that produced hits from jenny jackson...and other pop/R&B stuff) on courtside, front row seat.

Oh, I forgot about First Ave. It's the place where Prince got his start and they have a lot of shows there, like everyday.

First Ave. is featured in the film, "Purple Rain." :D
