My internet port in my college apt got shut down, or it's broken. There's a 50%/50% possibitly considering the outlets in our living room broken, the closet door was broken when I moved in, the lock of the front door jammed, my apt mate's room phone wouldn't work, the ac panel came off, etc. Or else they thought the Japanese trailers of FFX-2 was contraband. Either way, I'm on aol now which costs local minutes because this area is stupid about that apparently. *Pissed* My RA is nowhere to be found and he needs to talk to someone else about my port in some office who probably has to talk to someone else in another office.

Yeah it's school-owned. It turns out I have a worm so they shut down my port and the school patches don't work cause I'm using a Taiwan computer, and attempting to use windows updates when you don't understand the computer terminology or 60% of the characters they're showing you kinda sucks.

Probably from someone else on the network. Most network firewalls will stop anything -- coming from the outside. Can't do anything if it's coming from the inside. Likely the computer wasn't patched up to date and the worm has been sitting there for a while, just activated now.

Can't the character set be changed to English?

I'm using a Taiwan computer, and attempting to use windows updates when you don't understand the computer terminology or 60% of the characters they're showing you kinda sucks.
does windows still come with that Chinese font that has little (very little) bopomofo attached to the side of the characters? my friend needed to install Chinese windows a few years ago, so he used that as his screen font with the font size jacked up to 48.

PWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! someone moved into segundo, huh? that place is SUCH a shithole. =) my sympathies bess. i lived in every dorm but segundo =). overall, i thought regan was the best, tercero second, and cuarto third, because although cuarto sucked hard monkey herpes, it was better than the dorm that falls apart when you sneeze.

that new building they added to segundo shouldn't be shit, well, they WERE working on it till the last minute, and only seemed to do any REAL work the last month or so before school.

really? i've never seen Chinese Windows that looked like that. maybe i've just never seen Windows versions that are specific to Taiwan.

lol, i lived in emerson. our stuff wasn't broken, and they had just renovated before we moved in. anyway, if your roomie sux too, then transfer =) you can get into tercero or regan. But i'd do it soon, i had to throw one of my dormates through our living room window and my room's window before i could get transferred.

of course, this is all moot if you're roomate is nice.
