View Full Version : A True Tribute to 9/11...

You know what would be a TRUE TRIBUTE to the 9/11 victims? By having each 9/11 be a no-elevator or escalator day. Yup you heard me. That way EVERYONE will be forced to take the stairs so that we all get the exercise (I know I need it!).
That way the next time America gets owned, people can make it down the stairs in time.
Now THAT'S A TRUE TRIBUTE. Learning from a tragedy...NOT reading some names and "giving condolences."

Umm, that's pretty dumb. You really think so many people died in the WTC because they couldn't get down the stairs fast enough?

well yea. It certainly is possible. If you were on the 114th floor and you had only 30 minutes to get out, it would be difficult.
And you're probably in a lot better shape than some of the people in there.

UT in good shape? PUHAHAHHAHAAH sorry...
but you know what, the point that UT makes is valid. I don't agree w/ a NO escalator or no elevator rule, cuz some ppl are handicapped, and walking up 100 flights of stairs is really not necessary or fun. :p but we do need to exercise more as a nation, and by making such a big deal out of the people who died in the WTC, doesn't that trivialize almost all other accidental deaths? I mean, what is so special about dying in the WTC on Sept 11, 2001, as opposed to dying in a burning house on any day? Why is it that some rich executive who couldn't make it down the stairs in time and probably blocked the escape of many people behind him gets his name read out loud every day but some poor inner city child who dies from a "routine" accident is completely forgotten and likely not even entered into a statistic?

Lol, imagine the people that work on really high floors that need to go out for smoke breaks. I used to work in 2 WTC on 25 and 26. Those are the 2 lowest floors rented out to companies in that building. Going down the elevators to grab a cig, I used to have my ears pop.
