Today is Chuseok in Korea.
Happy Chuseok.

yes. amy. i believe there are some similarities.
song pyun... yum.
today we're having a huge dinner
at home.
edit. amy, because chusuk also
involves celebrating the fall harvest
in addition to paying homage to
ancestors.
enjoy!!

Is this strictly a home thing or will there be any special dinner things going on in various Korean restaurants in urban Koreatowns?

Well I hope all of my fellow Korean bruthas and sistas enjoyed their Chuseoks. I called my Dad. He wasn't home.
I guess that's life when you live alone in a foreign country.

Aaaahhh!
I'm SOOO jealous of you Korean peeps!
Not only do you have a beautiful culture and the best movies on the planet, but you have KICK ASS FOOD and you have equally KICK ASS HOLIDAYS IN WHICH TO EAT YOUR KICK ASS FOOD!
...aigo...
Is Chuseok officially over now, or can I still get in on some good times this weekend?
And is this just a Korean thing, or are there other Asian equivalents around this same time? I was at my friends' Filipino/Malaysian joint yesterday for 9/11 and they were telling me "happy mooncake day" or something...does this ring any bells?

What's Chuseok?
I's 8/15 on the lunar calendar.
Kind of Korean Thanksgiving. Coincides with that chinese moon festival.
