As I'm finding work while working, a coworker of mine told me that Washington University is hiring full time w/ benefits (including taking classes for free). Anyone ever been a research assistant? Any pros and cons? Just need the dough and experience to save a little before grad school.

Depends on type of research. If it's for diseases then here are obvious cons.

did the biochem and physiology research assistant bit when i was in college and during the summer vacation my junior and senior year.
the pay sucked, but it does look good on the cv and the primary investigators were flexible with the hours.

i really don't care too much about money now. Just working myself back into grad school for a few more years and enjoying the time relaxing for now.
