I just PMed Chris to ask about this, also thinking that I was one of the few selected to get it attached under my avatar for whatever I did wrong, but I guess I wasn't the only one and it was put into effect before a full explanation yet.

Haha, I gotta say that it's a pretty clever deterrance against offensive posts since others will be able to tell who're more naughty posters than the rest by seeing the warn meters. It'll be like going around wearing the scarlet letter, I guess. Are you sure that some posters won't, in fact, think of their high meter readings as a sign of being the baddest YW members? ;)

Nope. But since most of us mods aren't up to speed on how it works someone may have just saw the colorful buttons and thought "ooh. pretty." and played with them. I know I was tempted to do it.

But wouldn't it be a hoot if it was a smart, automatic warning system?

HH, I hope that's not the case, for the sake of the mods here who may then have to look for other jobs that are too boring compared to being the YW mods. Besides, how can you people live without the excitement of a YW drama now and then, right? :D

Anyway, I know that artificial intelligence still has a long way to before such system can really work well. <_<
