for the third time in 2 years, i'm about to be unemployed again.

I told my boss i'm planning on going back to law school, and since i'm in a training position they're prolly gonna let me go since there is no point in training me if i'm leaving. No hard feelings.. i expected as much, they treated me good while i was here.

So assuming i leave here by the end of the month, that gives me almost 12 months to kill before i go to school (assuming i can get into one i want to go to)

I'm thinking about working part time somewhere so that I can spend more time studying/working aps/personal statement/LOR's and such... and maybe find a temp job after the LSATs and work until next summer??

Or should i just go ahead and try to find another full time job right away?? should i stay in insurance (which is what i've done for the last 3 years) where i can find a job pretty easily..... or try to find a job doing somethign different... ??

I kind of wish I was in your position. I was hoping to apply for law school this year, but I work full-time and have to study for LSATs and prep apps at teh same time. Honestly don't know if I can handle it all.

If you don't need your future employer to write you a recommendation, why not just work part-time so you can focus on perfecting your application?

Do insurance if you want to. Isn't it up to your own personal preference? If you want to try another industry, I think now's the best time to do it.

Do you get unemployement for 9 months? :D That'd be cool.

I say just temp. That way you can kill some time before you head to law school.

I worked a risk management consulting firm. It was a good job, but.. i wanted to go to law school and change the world.

Attorneys make plenty of moolah. That's as good an incentive as any for most people. Oh, and it's not easy at all! It can be the most grueling academic experience you will ever encounter. You're forced to think quickly, express yourself clearly, and exercise impeccable logic and reason. All in all, law school is an excellent tool to develop eloquence in the twin arts of the written and spoken word.

Me, I'm in it because an LLB(J.D.) will open up doors to a variety of places. ^_^

Anyway, Rogmok temping is good but if you have an entrepreneurial spark you should start a project. Or hire yourself out as an IT consultant and charge exorbitant fees for very little work. :D

Not only that, he must be prepared to be called on in class for an answer he may or may not have. :D
