I'm sorry I have to rant about this. While I personally am not gay, it does irk me that the government (namely the state government of 13 states, including my own) have such laws on the books. While quite frankly I would never engage in anal sex involving a male or female, I will defend others' rights to do so in the privacy of their own homes. It just seems wrong to me that the government is trying to legislate morality, so to speak. Now if it's sodomy involving a child, that is understandable, but then again why single out sodomy as opposed to any sort of sexual behavior? I just saw something about it on CNN and felt like I had to comment on it.

I agree with you, this issue is an interesting one. The laws specifically target gay sex. The first time I read about it I couldn't believe that such laws still existed and were being enforced, especially considering the invasive way in which the gay couple was found (a false alarm for a robbery, if I remember correctly).

I, too, agree. Instead of wasting time and resources regulating what people do in their bedrooms the Government should be looking into dealing with the heaps of pressing social problems that need to be addressed.

Blowjobs are illegal in some states.
Some states even have laws saying it is illegal to do it in any position other than missionairy.
These can be used as grounds for divorce if the woman or man who wants to divorce can't think of any legit reason to divorce his spouse.
Obviously this isnt enforced.

I think the word sodomy actually refers to any sex not involving a penis and a vagina, not just anal sex.
Really, didn't even know about these laws, where (which states)do they apply?

The US Supreme Court just heard a case in Texas regarding sodomy laws specific only to same sex partners. Garner v Tennessee.
We discussed it in this earlier thread http://forums.yellowworld.org/index.php?ac...ST&f=57&t=9230& (http://forums.yellowworld.org/index.php?act=ST&f=57&t=9230&)
Enjoy reading. :)
