View Full Version : Digging out the old threads

Since I haven't been here for too long, I like to see what has been posted in the past. There are some interesting threads that have "died".

I like to find the ones that peek my interest and respond to them. If that's OK. Any problems with digging up the dead threads?

Like this thread --

A History of Linkage thread (http://forums.yellowworld.org/index.php?act=ST&f=36&t=2390&st=0&)

Turned up this controversial article:

A History of Linkage article (http://modelminority.com/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=156)

Of course its ok to respond to old threads... thats why we like to keep as many topics open as possible when it comes to discussing certain issues or interests... certain threads may get old... and ppl may no longer respond to them... but of course new members join... in whom may want to respond... to add on to the discussion...

I'd do it if I saw an old thread that I had something else to add onto, or if I didn't before. I don't see anything wrong with it. Moderators?

if we don't want people responding to a thread anymore, we'd close it. :)

so feel free to dig up whatever old threads you want.

actually i feel kind of dorky reading some of those old posts i made.

Go for it. It makes our lives easier so we don't have to merge topics. Might be a bit out of synch for the rest of us though if it's a convo from like a year or so ago.

I like digging up old topics. After a while, sometimes your perspectives can change. Or you have something else you'd like to add. I dig up old stuff a lot. :D

That's cool. But what if I dig up some old zero-post threads? Tempting fate, then, huh.

Great. I tried responding to a thread (http://www.forums.yellowworld.org/showthread.php?t=5564&highlight=song+stuck+head) mr. x made but nothing happened. I look up old threads because I don't want to repeat more of the same by creating a new thread if its already been done before. Do I have to make a new thread so that you can merge it with the old thread just to get it running again? I really want to post this song thats stuck in my head, so that in the future, I can look at how long the song was stuck in my head compared to other addicting or annoying songs.

you can't post to that thread because it has been closed, for whatever reason.

you could start a new thread based on this...

it is preferable to search for an old thread rather than start a new one tho'... it makes the mod's lives easier bcause we're only supposed to have one thread per topic, and we're supposed to merge any duplicated threads.

yeh, it makes our lives easier so we don't have to think up new topics.

Revive the dead, or the merely "floating in an altered state"?

Digging up old movie threads, I think is appropriate. Sometimes you can't get around to seeing what is first run and talked about then and there. It's not until you get the movie and watch it on DVD that you can go back to what people were discussing.

There are probably some recurring themes in some old threads, too.

Moving to Feedback. You can request to have a thread reopened by PMing the respective moderator.
