Tell me something that annoys you about the most idiosyncratic things you see as you go about your day. It could be about what people do or the things you see. Go Crazy!

I could write a book about the things that annoy me. So I'll just say this: Stupid people with stupid thoughts and stupid everything annoys me.

An easy one: people who honk excessively.
Use your horn sparingly, people.

Annoyance List:
In general, what annoys me are people who are ignorant, who don't use deodorant, who leave drops of their urine on the toilet seat in the public bathroom, who snore incessantly, who have tempers in the car or anywhere, who enjoy porn, who oppress, who are supremicists, ....
On the road, it drives me bonkers when someone doesn't turn off their left/right turn signals on the highway, when people don't use left/right turn signals on the highway, and people who tail gate. I don't like driving around huge 14-wheelers.
At school, seeing a million and one naked statues is more than enough for me. Those Jesuit institutions! ;)
Online, it annoys me when someone leaves me hanging forever on AIM without telling me that they're on the phone or say, "could we talk in ______ minutes/hours" because I have to go _____________." On Asianavenue.com, I don't like their pop-up windows. They're just as annoying as commercials on TV.
On TV, I despise commercials that don't have a good reason to sell their products except for throwing in some schpeel with sex appeal or some scenic picture that's suppose to relax me into buying a product. I don't like all the reality-TV shows out there because "reality" is REALLY a misnomer and false advertising.
As for children, as much as they have the potential to be cute and demure, some of them are utter spoiled brats and think they're "king" or "queen" of their domains.

i admit, i dont use deodorant. i'm 30, and i only tried it once in my lifetime. During my first year in college, all the freshman were given a package of bathroom stuff.. like shampoo, conditioner... and deodorant. So like that was my first time trying it... and it just felt awkward to me to have to put something under my arms like that.. so i've never used it since.. and i dont think its a necessity for me to have to use it...
Anyways, the ppl who annoy me the most are naggers. People who nag me, dont get me anywhere...

- stupid sappy little poems that were written for the sole purpose of wooing equally sappy [read: gullable] girls.
- britney spears & the majority of popstars
- flat soda
- waiters who dont speak english...WTF how are you going to take my order???
- traffic
- teeny boppers
- people who whine
- ignorance
- and so on...

That must really be hell if you live near the busy roads with all the honking.
Oh god, Karizma. Teeny boppers I can't stand one bit. Especially the ones that go up to me and ask "Why do you like rock music? All they do is scream." Uh, no. That's heavy metal. I get that too much. It's really annoying. I'd like a reason why they like bubblegum pop music.

>> rock....rocks...haha. im guessing teeny boppers like pop because its so mainstream and media portrays popstars as the coolest of the cool which is what every bopper strives to be. blech.

Using deodorant is like putting contacts in my eyes. I don't think about it once it's on. I don't know what your R.A. gave you during your first year of college, but the deodorant I use definitely doesn't feel like a bar of soap underneath my arm pits. =)

i admit, i dont use deodorant. i'm 30, and i only tried it once in my lifetime.
A bunch of my Asian friends don't bother with deodorant--you're not alone. I only use it if I know I'm going somewhere I know I'll be working up a sweat (club, gym, etc.). Even then it's more of a "just in case" thing 'cause my pits usually don't even stink even if I do work up a sweat. White people seem to need it more than us.
Things that annoy me?
Slow drivers in the left lanes of the highway--if you're going as fast as the car besides you, you ought not to be blocking a whole different lane.
SUV drivers (and drivers generally) that don't check their blind spots before changing lanes.
Drivers that don't creep out far enough when in the left turn lane.
Drivers that don't turn right on reds even though it's safe to go.
Drivers that don't park straight between the lines or park too far to one side.
Cars parked 3/4ths of a spot away from a driveway or red, thus wasting two spaces.
Drivers that don't know where the fuck they're going and thus slow down out of nowhere without even signaling.
Pedestrians who step into the street without looking at the oncoming cars (and then take their merry time crossing a major street). I don't care if you've got the right of way; if I hit you, you're going to get fucked up! Think about it!
People who don't know how to follow directions.
People who kick the back of my seat when I'm watching a movie.
Crying babies at movies and their dumbass parents who don't immediately take the kids out of the auditorium when they start to cry.
Guys who piss in the regular toilets without lifting the seat, thus spraying urine all over the seat. This is especially annoying when there are perfectly good urinals available. If you're going to piss in the toilet, at least lift the damn seat!

-Cashiers who just throw your change on the counter instead of putting it in your hand. (Is it just me or is that just completely rude?) Thanks, now it'll just take me longer to pick up the coins off the flat surface.
-Snooty chicks that just stare at you up and down like they're checking out what you're wearing. grrr.. No, this is not Prada b*tch!
-People with attitude walking down the street obviously looking for a fight. (Add in tough guy gait *here*)
-People with attitude in fancy cars blasting obscenely loud music (usually rap) looking to race. Hmm, your parents called and they said they need it back by 9:30.
-People who kiss their boss' ass. Hey, while you're there, can you get his head out of there?
-Friends who call and ask "Hi..How ya' doing?" Then proceed to ramble on about mundane problems without waiting for an answer. I always want to say "Oh, I'm dying, but let's not talk about me, how was your day?"
-People who kick chihuahuas. That is the worst.
-The fact that I have to wear "ankle length" jeans and it's still way too long.
-Hmm the fact that I have a lot more annoyances but can't think any more right now.

OK, this thread is just for you tell us what makes you tick. What pisses you off. I'll start off:
I can't stand people who act as if they're so religious, but in reality they're just as bad, or even worse, than the rest of us. They try to tell you about their faith, but 99% of the time, they're swearing along with you, they're talking trash along with you, they're doing all the stupid stuff and getting in trouble right along with you. I know a guy like this, and my fingers itch when I see his face cause I wanna slap him! This dude does gospel concerts and he's gets into fights and picks fights with people all the time!!!! AAARRRGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!! It really irks me!
So, what annoys the hell out of you?

hypocrisy in general. like for instance ben affleck and his go out and vote campaign where he toured the country trying to get young ppl to vote. and reporters checked him out and discovered he hadn't voted in the election (this was 2 years ago). then they dug some more and found out he hadn't voted for something like 8 years. what a poser little bitch...

Well, hypocrisy is even more annoying when it has a religioius overtone, IMO. It's almost like people actually believe God supports their hypocrisy. Of course he doesn't though, it actually says that in the New Testament he doesn't.
But I digress. I don't want to turn this into a religious debate.

Ehhh for someone who claims to be non-religious, my pet peeves revolve around religion, too:
i'm especially peeved at people who call themselves Christian but aren't STRICTLY moral or Bible-believing or anything. Like people who espouse or excuse violence, but say they want to lead a godly life. So this is why I'm more sympathetic to hardcore fundamentalists rather than average churchgoers or ppl who go to fellowship meetings cuz they wanna pick up girls.
I'm also peeved at people who "believe in a higher power but don't believe in God." (although i may be one of those ppl; i just haven't admitted it to anyone yet ;)). Cuz I think the whole pt of believing in a higher power is to guide your life, and just saying "i believe some higher power exists beyond us" seems to be an entirely meaningless statement to me, cuz it offers NO guidance on morality or livelihood or anything. It just reflects a chickenness and inability to make up their mind to me.
On a somewhat related note, my pet peeve (maybe not reflecting reality) is girls who talk about "equality" and "independence" except when it comes to money. Like women who always like having guys pay for them or buy them stuff but also like to spell things "womyn," (once in a while), etc.
I guess what bugs me is just inconsistency. But then I should be bugged by myself cuz I'm really inconsistent and downright hypocritical, too.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not non-religious. But this guy in particular is one of the biggest a*sholes I've ever met (and trust me, I've run into my fair share, I even admit to being one myself sometimes). But all the time he's talking about how he lifts up His name, etc.
The thing is, he's annoying as hell even if he shouted to the entire world that he was an atheist. But the fact that he claims to be a saint, and etc. makes it 100 times worse. It's the "holier-than-thou" attitude.
If you ever visit Alabama, you'll find it to be very common actually, especially with our politicians and PAC's.

i'm agnostic, and religion/god isn't necessarily some kind of guiding light. maybe it was meant to be for people who subscribe to a particular faith, and those ppl better damn well treat it like some guidance. but agnostic ppl aren't really in any faith ... they just acknowledge a higher power to explain the unexplainable at times ... and i don't see what's the problem with it? ppl have their own rationale for accepting and not accepting, and just how many of us are truly qualified to judge that rationale?
in my opinion, before you turn to the path of any god, you have to give up all that ill shit you do for fun. ya know, like blazin', boozin', sexin', etc, because once you wanna join god, you won't be needing anything else (supposedly). well, i'm not quite a believer of that yet (nor do I think I will ever be) , but i know lots of weird ass shit happens without much explanation, so i figure there is a possibility of something greater out there.
and it's prolly better that ppl admit to being agnostic instead of like lying about it and saying they're athiest.
one thing is for sure, agnostic is for ppl who aren't sure about where their beliefs lie, but at least these ppl don't try to pass themselves off as religious followers.
and i don't think a lack of faith necessarily results into cowardice. it either means you've been given no plausible reason to accept religion, OR you're just so in love with earthly pleasures that you don't care about religion/god, OR you are flat out scared to accept god.
i suppose the list could go on, but the bottomline is that everyone has their own reasons for their own beliefs, and it's better they remain undecided rather than become posers.

hiroshi, where are you in alabama? just wondering cuz i'm here too. used to live in hsv, went to auburn for college and work in mobile.
born and raised in birmingham
I'm trying to get out of here for college. The only uni I'd consider in this state is UAB. I'm sure you're well aware of this state's financial problems espceially with schools.
I never got caught up in the whole Alabama-Auburn thing, so I don't really want to go either school (don't take that personally).
no worries, i don't really have strong school spirit. (WAR EAGLE!!!) oops. how'd that slip out? anyways, if u change your mind, i have some friends involved in the asian american association over there i can intro u to. but if i were you, i'd avoid auburn or any school in the alabama like the plague. i'm just biding my time until i can get the hell away from the south.

ROFL!!! Too funny!
Ok mine:
*People with self defeating personalities - Ok, enough! Stop blaming the world and be responsible for yourself.
*Insecure people - stop fishing for compliments, you're not using the right bait, and I'm not biting.
*Drunk people that hang on you - I'm not you're best friend, and my shoulder isn't a crutch for you to lean on!
*Jealousy - cut the crap already, if you can't trust her, you shouldn't be with her. If you do trust her shut the hell up and stop whining. (goes for guys and girls).
*People who drive while on their cell phone. - You're not that important, call them back when your not behind a 2,000 lb weapon.
*Automated phone lines - I tried to do this online already, but it didn't work. I want to speak with someone already, so enough with the prompts and pressing buttons!!!
*Begginers on the blue or black diamonds when skiing - you still suck, get back to the green before you hurt someone.
Other random pet peeves -
*When I order Chicken McNuggets (I know, so bad for me!!!) put the sauce in the bag. What the hell am I going to do with 20 nuggets and no sauce?
*10 hot dogs, 8 buns - come on!
*$50 minimum for a parking ticket where I live. I'm not at a hydrant or a handicap, give me a break!
*Roaming on cell phone. Isn't the point of a phone to be mobile?
*Batteries not included - why not? How am I going to play with my new toy then?!
*Non-twist off beer bottles - I'm trying to relax, you're gonna make me work at opening my beer?
*Zima - stupid idea
*Audio books - get your mommy to read books to you, otherwise
read them!
*free porn sites that aren't really free. Liars.
*Lifetime channel. Now it has a partner called Womens Entertainment (WE). ARgghhhh!
Ummmm, I think that's it.

hehe...
personally, i love audio books... i'd rather listen to a story than read one any day... like you can be doing something else... and listen to the book... unlike when your reading... thats the only thing you can do... Also, if the narrator is good at what they do... i mean, there are some good and bad story tellers... but the really good ones, i love a lot...
i listened to an Agatha Christie book once... Death on the Nile... and it was great, cuz they had different narrators for the different characters... and their voices got really into it...

Damn... I get P.O'ed about the above two. People like that should get slapped back to reality and focus that the world does NOT revolve around them. To me, they're the most selfish people in the world.
I think we can all attest to the whole religion thing. Friggin' Church of Jesus Christ ppl around San Francisco who are ALWAYS trying to recruit people. For some reason, I look like I can be "saved". I tell them I already go to church (in attempts to kick them the hell away) but yet they STILL PERSIST on telling me how their church is different? I mean, isn't the goal still the same? To get a person to believe in GOD?? But noooo, their church has to be better cuz it's THEIR CHURCH. Usually if that doesn't work, I ignore them and tell them to F--- off. Sometimes people can't take a hint.
And I really hate irresponsible people who assume that you'll take care of them when you're around. This is my NUMBER ONE REASON why I don't have fun at Raves. For some reason they think it's the place to get high or junked up on some shit, and think everything is going to be ok. I fear for the people I go with, because either one day they'll wake up in jail or find they've been raped or some other shit. I really don't trust many people there, so I have to make they don't get taken advantaged of. *deep breath*
And people who believe they know it all. If they truly did know it all, then they should KNOW I don't wanna listen to their shit.

When I say I sorta kinda believe in a higher power, but not God, I just mean that I don't buy into the Christian God from the Bible and stuff. I have my own idea of who or what God is and what He's like. Then again, I waver back and forth between believing in something and believing in nothing. I'm undecided, too. :(

Ever watch Dogma?? That film points on some of my thoughts on religion. I really believe in the whole "give your own idea" about God. For me, I do believe in God and some parts of the bible, but hell if I believe in the church. It's a friggin' institution, and that means they shape minds, instead of cultivate them. But that my own opinion.

You guys have heard the parable about the blind men and the elephant? One feels its sides and says that an elephant is like the wall of a house. One feels its tail and says it's like a snake. The blind man that holds the elephant's leg says it's like a tree trunk. In a sense they are all right, but to get at the essence of the elephant they need to put their experiences together.
So ... it's the same with our own attempts to glimpse god or whatever you want to call it. No one religion can claim to have the one and only answer.

in my opinion, before you turn to the path of any god, you have to give up all that ill shit you do for fun. ya know, like blazin', boozin', sexin', etc, because once you wanna join god, you won't be needing anything else (supposedly). well, i'm not quite a believer of that yet (nor do I think I will ever be) , but i know lots of weird ass shit happens without much explanation, so i figure there is a possibility of something greater out there.
and i don't think a lack of faith necessarily results into cowardice. it either means you've been given no plausible reason to accept religion, OR you're just so in love with earthly pleasures that you don't care about religion/god, OR you are flat out scared to accept god.
Yeah...I agree that people who claim to be RELIGIOUS or GOD-FEARING should give up all the fun stuff they do. Otherwise, it's just empty words. I mean according to their own religions they'd probably go to hell anyway, so why go half-way?
I don't think LACk of faith is cowardice, but the halfway "i believe in God" but "i like fucking, blazing, gambling, violence, porn, etc" IS...its either cowardice or stupidity.
I think an agnostic is someone who says "i'm not sure." (agnostic literally means "no knowledge"), and I think to some extent, most of us non-religious people are agnostic. Cuz few of us really can say, w/ 100% certainty, that there's NO God...but we can say "there may as well be no God, in my life anyway." Especially if we want to enjoy earthly pleasures; then we shouldn't be going to church and attending fellowships or telling people to lead godly lives, if we're not willing to go all the way ourselves. That's one reason why I choose not to be a Christian and to not be religious; I know I can't handle it. And maybe that's not the best way, but it's better than someone who CLAIMS to be Christian and even occasionally preaches or talks about his "faith" but then does or says or believes in completely un-Christian concepts. That's not even hypocrisy; it's just sheer idiocy.
Ok...i think i'm allowed to rant like that; after all this is a "rant" about "peeves."

While we're on the religious thing, one of my pet peeves is when people treat me like I have less than half a brain cell because I am a Christian.
If I say "I'm Christian", the next words out of their mouths are "Why do you hate gay people?". Well, that was uncalled for. I don't hate gay people. Far from it. The priest in my church is gay. (I'm Episcopalian. We tend to be more progressive than others).
I never try to convert people. If they have questions, I'll answer them, but I don't prostelytize (sp?) ever. I have friends of all faiths and non-faiths.
I also don't like the assumption that I must be a follower of the religious right (Jerry Falwell et al) . I say, the Christian Right is neither.
ChinaLama
11-14-2002, 04:56 PM
there's also a Christian LEFT. :)
Anyway, before I get tarred and feathered, one more anger-inducing comment:
And I wonder, if someone doesn't OPENLY tell people about their faith, are they being cold and just thinking, "Well, I'M not going to Hell, so if my friend is on the wrong path and no matter what a great guy he is, he's going to Hell cuz he doesn't believe in God and the Bible, heck, I don't care. that's his choice." I wonder if that's really LOVE, to NOT be a missionary, assuming you believe in the tenet, that all non-Christians will not be saved.
I mean, my parents love me, and because they think I'm going the wrong path where I'm slacking off and possibly won't have a really bright future, they spend hours and hours of their time talking to me or thinking about how to talk to me, or even resorting to semi-force methods and anger to try to make me step on the right path.
If the Bible is right, what would I be thinking of all the "Christians" I've met through my life who have done next to nothing to actively persuade me of their Truth? Would I think, as I'm about to be tossed into a fire, "hey, it's great all these people I know weren't pushy, just kind of leading by example by living pretty clean lives and telling people they go to church and fellowship, and quoting the Bible a few times in their AIM profiles," or would I be thinking, "Of all of those friends or acquaintances, only a couple really tried to convince me of the right way, and I should be grateful to them. And while I don't blame the others, I wonder what they could have done to share their faith with me more, to make me understand, instead of just blasedly living their own lives happily while allowing other people to walk down a road they KNOW leads to destruction."
And that's the reason why I think, if a person is Christian, he or she should ACT Christian and actively tell people about their faith, and about how they need to get right w/ God, or whatever, cuz that just seems to me what a person w/ love and compassion for other people would do, rather than just let other ppl walk towards a fire and say "hey it's not my life; it's not my responsibility." And that's why I have more respect for truly hardcore Christians than I do for people who just go to Church and talk about God once in a while. Cuz the truly hardcore Christians seem to be really TRYING to help other people become saved, and so they have a lot of love for everyone. And isn't love one of THE keys to being Christian?
Ehhh...so I hope this clarifies things a bit (or just cofuses ppl more as to MY stance). Even though I'm not a Christian, I sympathize w/ Christians and I admire their resolve. But at the same time, that kind of makes me hardline in my beliefs of what a Christian should be like. I guess it's just the pseudo-social-scientist in me, obsessed w/ categorizing ppl. :(

exactly in this liberal and quick to judge activist/ militant wannabe yourth culture/ world i think that people are too quick to throw away the old ways and just replace it with either criticism or cynicism... i think that it stems from an inate personal deffieciency of character or the soul building power of believing in sumthing greater then themselves. That those who are so quick to judge and make light of religion really are jealous and envious deep down about those who have seen or felt strongly enough to believe in something better then themselves. Shrugz...well I just wanna chip in w/ one more comment. I don't think non-religious people are necessarily "without character" or "weak." In fact, the person I know with the STRONGEST (perhaps too rigid) morals and who probably has one of the strongest willpowers of all the people I know doesn't believe in God. I think a person can be moral whether or not he's religious; the question of HOW moral a person is, I think, depends on how fast he stands to his principles and how consistent his principles are. So like if someone says "I'm Christian" but also acts as if he has no sense of love for other people, then i don't consider him really moral (in fact, if i'm in a moralistic mood, I'd consider him IMmoral) cuz his beliefs are not consistent. On the one hand, he implies he believes in the principles in the Bible, which include compassion and love, but on the other hand, he shows by his attitude that he DOESN'T believe in those principals cuz he doesn't have compassion or love.

question then are they really a chrisitan or just fallowing what their parents or peers have lay down for them.? really i think alot of self proclaimed religious people need to evaluate themselves that way. the most moral person i know hands down is my old pastor who threw his life here away to live in australia being a missionary to aboriginal tribes...he never kissed any other woman other then his wife, he never lusted or made lewd comments, he always no matter how bad we were as kids was there for us, he always stood firm for what he taught and lived the life he asked the congregation to do, and really i respected him all the time i knew him...from 8th grade to softmore year college. people like that i think really have their act together and show maturity.

I don't believe that all non-Christians are somehow damned.
Like I said, I'm from a church with rather liberal interpretations of the Bible. I know a lot of people, such as Christians from more conservative denominations, who don't like the scant amount of rigid doctrine we have. They would rather be told what to do: to have absolute "truths" or "givens" such as "all non-Christians are going to hell", than make their own interpretations. It's part of human nature, I guess.

Personally... my beliefs are that I believe in the religion, but not in the people. There's just too many hypocrites out there who are out to make themselves holier than thou. It really comes down to this: In my deepest darkest time, who do I go to for help and support? I pray to God and Jesus. But I don't find comfort telling a pastor about my feelings, or a fellow church-goer. The churches I've been to, have always been populated with gossip kings and queens. There is no sense of privacy or individuality there. It's just all a collective group gathering, which serves as a cliche, rather than a true community. I'm sure there are exceptions to my comment, but I've really tried to look for a church that would accept me, and make me feel welcomed, not like a friggin' outsider.
The funny thing is, my parents are both buddist. They aren't really hardcore or such, but they do have their beliefs that they try to instill within me and my brother and sister. The thing is, they didn't say we were going to hell for exploring our spiritual beliefs, they just said to be cautious of what others tell you, and take in what you know is true. That surprises me, considering that my parents are sometimes the most rigid people in the world. So I chose Christianity as my belief. But because I do not go to church, I can't call myself a person of God, because I honestly do want to go discuss issues such as my faith with people I can trust. But I can't because I just don't fit their mold.
Damn my rants.
Honestly though, I would consider myself a spiritual person. Although I do believe in some parts of the bible, I can't say I believe in everything it says. But I'm very liberal about the things I believe in. If there is anything else I should say about this subject, it's like in my ealier post:
Make your own judgement/idea about what you believe in. :)

Me: Hi
Stranger: So, where are you from?
Me: <my town or state, depending on where I am>
Stranger: Um, I mean... where are you from originally?
Me: I've lived in the same town most of my life.
Stranger: Uh. I mean, what country are you from?
Me: I was born here.
Stranger: Er, where are your parents from?

I believe that there are many paths to the same destination. If you look beyond all the crap, the heart of every religion contains the same/similar tenets.

I think there are "similar threads" that run through all religions such as helping the downtrodden and caring for one another but the "heart" of the religion I think is contained in the path.
So for Reformed Christianity you have grace by faith... in Roman Catholicism you have Tradition, church and works...in Islam you have merits....etc.
The path is the means to the end....which whatever it may be, cessation of suffering, destruction of Karmic retribution, atonement for sins, etc...this path is I believe the core of individual faiths....not the moral teachings.
Peace be with you! :)

I don't like it when people go on my computer. It irritates me when things aren't left the way I want. Like my brother signs on AIM on my computer so when I sign on it logs on to his SN. And in the history, he typed hotmail.com as htomail.com and midnitechallenge.com something totally off, too. And when I go to look for my links, they're there, and ARG! And when my parents don't sign out of their email address. BLAH!

I don't like it when my brother has his Counter Strike blasting loud at the wee hours in the morning when I'm trying to sleep. Even when I'm just sitting there awake doing something else :nerd: , it's so loud and irritating. What's worse is he yells at the computer when he dies or misses, and he moans like ... stuff I don't want to hear when he lives. And my cousin comes over and talks with him about CS while they're playing. AHHH!

LoLz. People playing first person shooters are fun to listen to, unless you're trying to do work. I know I've yelled into the great ether a few times at some incompetent teammates. I wear headphones though, so the occasional expletive isn't too bad... or at least no one has complained... anyway, someone with too much time on their hands decided to remix their friend playing Counter-Strike: here (mp3, large file) (http://www.zlilo.com/~flyinj/The_Terrible_Mr_Grimshaw.mp3).

Yay! More ranting about my brother. HE messed up his own computer. Actually, I don't even think that it was messed up. He was only complaining because it was "too @#$%ing slow." Soo right now my dad sent it to a friend to upgrade. Anyway, this morning, he was using my computer, and he asked me if he could have his own profile on the computer because Guest restricts stuff. And, as you know my pet peeve about people using my computer, I told him that I would think about it. He left my computer on when it was almost time to goto school, so I turned it off because I could do it later, even if I was reluctant to. When he walked back in the room, he yelled at me. When I tried to explain to him, he was like, "#$%^ you. I'm not doing #$%^ for you anymore." GOODNESS! He's so ungrateful. He's only nice when he wants something. But when I don't let him, he gets all pissy. Immature. Grr... And last night, he was calling me all these foul names, saying the meanest things, I was getting so irritated. And when I mentioned that this morning, he's all, "THAT WAS LAST NIGHT!" Well, duh. I'm not stupid. I know that was last night, but that's not the first time.
In the end, I'm the one with more power. I'm older, smarter, a better kid in general, AND it's my computer, so I have control over it. Yes. Power. MUWAHAHAHAHA!

people who front on-line. if you're going to lie about how you only wear name brand clothes, at least get the spelling right.

Asians who wore A&F during the whole A&F thing *ducks for cover :)*
Seriously, being on-campus and trying to work with ppl who are constantly talking about how Asians are not oppressed, not minorities, or are basically white. Like this girl who talked about a class she was taking in which the prof was like "in this class we will only talk about OPPRESSED minorities, as in minorities who are at a disadvantage. That means we will only talk about blacks, latinos, and native americans." GRRRRRR...
I hate when people scream "free Tibet" but won't even consider saying anything about free Palestine.

My pet peeve of the last two days:
My little strumpet of a roommate and her equally-a-little-strumpet of a boyfriend.
I was supposed to go home for spring break this Sunday afternoon, but other plans came up and now I'm going home Monday morning. However, my roommate's boyfriend who she "hasn't seen in six weeks!!!" (as she keeps reminding me) is visiting, and you know what that means. Now, she's acting all pissed off because she can't be "alone" with her boyfriend 24/7. She's constantly implying, thought never coming out and saying, "Why don't you just go home?" Hey, I'm paying for this damn room, too!
How about (maybe) talk about possible concessions if she guarantees no depravity or sex allowed in your room! Tell her this isn't sin city. In other words, make her feel like a complete ho.

my brother is annoying. notice about how many pet peeve posts i've posted about him.
He thinks he so hot when it comes to music, and he can't even spell Brian McKnight.
"Ziru! How do you spell Brian McKnight? Is it night like during the nighttime? Or like the people with swords?... Oh. I spelled it MAC."
GAH!

I hate people who blast their music so freaking loud everywhere. Buddy, just because you like it and wanna listen to it, doesn't mean we all do. Just like how whereas we might want you to die, you might not want yourself to die. Most of us are polite and don't kill you.

I hate it when people cut me off like some idiot did today
I can't explain it, but I'm much more aggressive behind the wheel of a car than I am otherwise. I think somewhere back on the first few pages of this thread a long time ago I made some other driving-related complaints. I don't know, I don't feel like looking it up, so if I'm complaining about the same thing I did back on page 1 or whatever, sorry.

my old school was a deathtrap.
the cafeteria had only one entrance and exit, and there weren't any crashbars, so if there was an explosion or a fire, there would be utter chaos.
luckily, they've never had a fire.

Yeah I don't know if you or anyone else read this in the news, but last year (or maybe the year before last) president bush was whispering something to somebody while at a conference of some sort, and he said some things he certainly wouldn't have said in public. Well, anyway, he didn't realize the mic was on right next to him and everybody in the audience heard him (so of course that defeated the purpose of whispering).
I just thought that was too funny :D

People who don't know how to use signals when switching lanes or turning.
People who have no manners (like holding doors open for people behind you, or picking up a pen when it falls right beside their foot, instead of having the person struggle to reach).
Road ragers who have no patience when in traffic. We're all trying to get somewhere, and we're all stuck in traffic, chill out already.
People who don't make eye contact or listen when having a conversation, and only reply with "Yeah..."
People who leave their cell phones on during lectures, even when three other students have interrupted the lecture with their pathetic ringtones. Even worse are the ones who answer their phone when it rings in class.
People who make quick assumptions about others.
People who follow trends like it's their religion.
People who can't put themselves in others' shoes.

Can you blame anybody for doing it? Every time I do it, some idiot decides that they're gonna speed up and not let me in.
I drive pretty aggressively, actually. I'm the guy who comes flying down an on or off-ramp 25 mph faster than the traffic I'm trying to merge into just to ensure that I'm able to merge. And yes I do follow closely so that nobody can cut me off. And I don't use turn signals while switching lanes because of the aforementioned reason.

Don't have it yet, but have been driving for a couple of years now :P
Most of the kids in our neighborhood were driving long before we were old enough to get a license.

if a driver does that to me, and this driver ends up being on the same course as me for the next while, i try to make his driving time as hard as possible.
